STEVE JOBS GAVE US LIFE B-4 HE DIED.

Steve Jobs passed away this week at the young age of 56. Before leaving this life Jobs gave the world tools and the stimulus and an opportunity to become more knowledgeable and learn with his inventions. He is being compared to the inventors Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. Jobs credentials include inventing the personal computer with Apple and improving animation films with Pixar. Personal computers will inevitably go down in history as one of the most important inventions man has ever created.

It has helped students and adults learn and businesses to function. It became the for-runner of the smart phone. Both of these tools provide access to knowledge and enjoy music and video. Both of these inventions are the new pipeline for films and television programming. When many people work to get as much as they can out of their own lives Jobs did the opposite through his work and genius mind he gave the world valuable tools so we the people can get more out of our lives.

Jobs was a Buddhist. Having interviewed many that survived Cambodia's Khmer Rouge genocide reading Jobs history brought to mind some similarities as well as his determination to succeed.

Following high school graduation in 1972, Jobs enrolled at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Although he dropped out after only one semester, he continued auditing classes at Reed, while sleeping on the floor in friends' rooms, returning Coke bottles for food money, and getting weekly free meals at the local Hare Krishna temple. Jobs later said, "If I had never dropped in on that single calligraphy course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts."

In autumn 1974, Jobs returned to California and began attending meetings of the Homebrew Computer Club with Wozniak. He took a job as a technician at Atari, a manufacturer of popular video games, with the primary intent of saving money for a spiritual retreat to India.

Jobs then traveled to India to visit the Neem Karoli Baba at his Kainchi Ashram with a Reed College friend (and, later, the first Apple employee), Daniel Kottke, in search of spiritual enlightenment. He came back a Buddhist with his head shaved and wearing traditional Indian clothing. During this time, Jobs experimented with psychedelics, calling his LSD experiences "one of the two or three most important things [he had] done in [his] life". He later said that people around him who did not share his countercultural roots could not fully relate to his thinking.

Thought he is no longer with us in this life given his contributions and good karma just think what he might do when he returns for his next life. Steve Jobs job... isn't done.

THE VOICE FINALE

The final show of The Voice singing contest will air tomorrow night Sunday Oct 9th on AXN. As much as we support singing talent contests there is something wrong with the production of this program. It seems too contrived, too sweet and unreal. The talent isn't that good and even the set feels uncomfortable.

The shows judges Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine are overly complementary. Being entertainers in their own right it appears that they prefer to not be overly critical of the talent as does Simon know it all Cowell.

Being that this is the finale it will be a three hour special. The show completed its run in the USA. In Asia we are viewing the left overs via delayed telecast. The good news is being a rerun the performance show and the results shows in naming the winner are combined thus a three hour show.

Without disclosing the winner that individual is the most deserving who had the best voice throughout the series since the audition stage. The winning mentor judge is a surprise as they were the next to last to choose a team and had to pick their last of their eight person team with contestants that failed to be chosen in the first audition stage. They were given a second chance to be chosen.

LOCKED UP ABROAD

The TV series Locked Up Abroad returns for another season but the time with A NEW TWIST. In the past the National Geographic Network announces a new season but keeps repeating the previous seasons. On their web sit they have a story of a foreigner that taught English in Thailand who trafficked drugs and is now serving time. For whatever reason that show has yet to be telecast.

The first episode of this season was something new with the main protagonist being Henry Hill the individual that the film Good Fellas was based on his book. This episode was not related to the stories depicted in the film that was nominated for six Academy Awards. As Hill pointed out there was a lot missing in the film that was in his book as this segment tells his tale of being in trouble with the mob in 1973.

This story focuses on Hill doing time in Lewisburg, PA prison. He was given special treatment buy prison guards and priests who were being paid off. They had a huge room with TV, hot plate for cooking, liquor and other additional benefits.

Hill went into the protection program after fingering Mafia figures which put them in jail. Hill spent time in the program living in Richmond Washington. Drug addiction was his Achilles heel that kept getting him into trouble as the real life Hill is seen and explains on the show. In those days dealing drugs was forbidden for Mafia members. Those caught doing so most likely would be murdered. THIS IS A MUST SEE.

LENO OFF FALLON ON

The networks are going through some time and program changes. The most shocking is CNBC dropping the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and replacing it with Jimmy Fallon. Fallon is good but no match for the very seasoned and smooth Leno. Fallon seems uncomfortable and is forcing his material. He lacks the ease in interviewing guests and his comedy sketches are poor.

TIGER MAN

A show to look out for is Tiger Man on the National Geographic network. Nat Geo has been promoting it to air in October but has yet to firm up a date. This is a MUST WATCH. It's only a two part series that shows unbelievable scenes of how a man interacts with grown tigers that behave like house cats around him. In one episode a tiger abandons her three cubs and Tiger Man raises them against his own wishes. His preference was for them to be raised in the wild by their mothers and not be comfortable being around humans.
