Looking Back on a Recap of the Week for Garnett and Iverson:

 

Thee Boston Celtics’ Kevin Garnett and the Denver Nuggets’ Allen Iverson today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, April 7, through Sunday, April 13.

Garnett led the Celtics to a 3-1 week, averaging 19.8 points on .600 shooting from the field and 7.8 rebounds. It is Garnett’s third Player of the Week selection this season (Nov. 11, March 23). Garnett leads the Celtics with 9.3 rebounds per game and is second on the team in scoring with 19.0 points per game.

Iverson led the Nuggets to a 3-1 week, and was second in the league in scoring with 28.8 points per game on .533 shooting, to go along with 6.8 rebounds. Iverson was second in the West in steals with 2.75 steals per game. It is Iverson’s third Player of the Week nod this season (Nov. 18, Jan. 6). Denver can clinch a playoff spot with a win or a loss by Golden State.

April 8 @ Milwaukee: Recorded 21 points and three steals in a 107-104 win over the Bucks.

April 9 @ Washington: Tallied 22 points, 14 rebounds and five assists in a 109-95 loss to the Wizards.

April 11 vs. Milwaukee: Scored 12 points and added eight rebounds in a 102-86 win over the Bucks.

April 12 @ Atlanta: Posted 24 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists in a 99-89 win over the Hawks.

Allen Iverson, Denver Nuggets

April 8 @ L.A. Clippers: Tallied 21 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and two steals in a 117-99 win over the Clippers.

April 10 @ Golden State: Poured in 33 points and added nine assists and three steals in a 114-105 win over the Warriors.

April 12 @ Utah: Posted 28 points in a 124-97 loss to the Jazz.

April 13 vs. Houston: Scored 33 points to go along with seven assists, seven rebounds and four steals in a 111-94 win over the Rockets.

Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Atlanta’s Joe Johnson, Charlotte’s Jason Richardson, Detroit’s Jason Maxiell, L.A. Lakers’ Kobe Bryant, Phoenix’s Amaré Stoudemire, Toronto’s Chris Bosh and Utah’s Mehmet Okur.
