SPORTS NOTES Part 2 - HAS RANDY MOSS LOST HIS SKILLS?

The NFL record breaker has had one tough year being bounced around to three different teams. Now with the Tennessee Titans Moss wasn't used in their last game - Part 1 - SPORTS LIVES UPS AND DOWNS

NO BALLS, NO BALL

It's been a rough year for NFL receiver Randy Moss. It can't be fun for the player who holds several NFL receiving records. One thing is for sure... Randy Moss is not having a BALL OF A TIME.

The problem is when the balls aren't thrown to you or you can't catch it then something is terribly wrong. The 13-year pro wasn't used in the Titans loss to the Indianapolis Colts last week that raises the question...WHAT'S UP??? One thing for sure it's not footballs being thrown his way.

The strange saga of 33-year old pass catcher Moss lingers on as to whether he still has definitive talent or is the football career over for the once super star. Since being bounced around by three NFL teams this season Moss hasn't regained the form that made him one of the most explosive receivers ever in the league.

After beginning the season with the New England Patriots Moss was traded to the Minnesota Vikings after the fourth game of the season. During his four game stint with the Patriots he registered nine receptions for 139 yards.

In four games with the Vikings he had 13 receptions for 173 yards. After a feud with the Vikings coach Brad Childress he was put on waivers and soon after picked up by the Tennessee Titans on November 3rd. We then asked who would last longer in the league Brad Childress or Randy Moss.

The question was answered two weeks ago as the Vikings fired Childress November 22nd. Childress was guilty of not consulting with the Vikings owner Zygi Wilf his intention to release Moss.

In his four appearances with the Titans Moss has only four receptions for 62 yards and zero touchdowns. In the teams 30-28 loss to the Colts the Titans sixth consecutive defeat including five since Moss' arrival Titans coach Jeff Fisher chose not to use him. In Fishers post game comments he said he was happy with the Moss who is known as being a threat on long ball receptions while the game plan against the Colts was designed with short passes.

The Titans are currently entrenched at the bottom of the AFC South standings with a 5 win 8 loss record with only three games remaining in the season. Now the question is will Moss spread his wings and his former talent emerge to fly again before the season ends to regain the super star status he once had OR is it his last hoorah with his party being over? Stay tuned...
