AXN'S APARTMENT'S MYSTERIOUS STAR SPORT

Tonight will be a tough decision making time for TV viewers as AXN is making a strong showing with two of it's programs scheduled that being the Apartment and Challenger Muay Thai reality series.

On a lighter note the Apartment series is not that great of a show. It can be dull at times but after channel chasing to it several times our attention was drawn to one contestant in particular who looked very familiar.

Renai is her name but how we knew her was a mystery. On the series she is paired with her Australian boyfriend Jeremy whereas she takes on the quiet backseat role and while her boyfriend of three years is more vocal and assertive. On the show she parades around in shorts which further clouded the mystery as we didn't recall seeing full body shot.

The three couples design and decorate three identical luxury penthouses with a chance to win their dream home. The mysterious Renai couple is currently in second place in the competition with two wins of the six decisions in an apartment decorating competition. But wait something happened in last week's episode that gave us a tip on who Renai really is.

In the closing credits and a preview of tonight's show Renai went from being quiet to explosive as in a dispute between the two she tore into Jeremy and told him to get over it. That explosive outburst brought her identity into focus she the sports presenter on Star Sports we thought. We then jumped to Star sports show on Star Sports that we think she hosts a half hour after the end of the Apartment and a very different persona appears one that is feisty and outgoing. Now the Apartment became interesting particularly tonight's episode to see what happens between Renai and Jeremy.

One of the problems in researching TV programs in Asia is the lack of information presented in a transparent straight forward manner. In this case with two networks involved it's easy to understand that AXN is not going to promote another network. The other problem is simply lack of skill.

So we put you to the challenge and if there is an interest in uncovering this mystery first tune in to The Apartment at 6:10 PM Singapore and Hong Kong and 7:10 PM Bangkok, Cambodia & Indonesia. The tune in to Star Sports at 7:30 PM Singapore and Hong Kong or 8:30 PM Bangkok, Cambodia and Indonesia and you make the decision of is she or isn't she.

CHALLENGER MUAY THAI CHAMPIONSHIP

After weeks of eliminations it's down to the title fight tonight on AXN's Challenger Muay Thai reality fighting competition. As in the previous series a Thai will be in the final this time against a tough British fighter that is all business.

England's Jordan Watson has lost only three times is 38 fights prior to entering the competition (35 W 3 L 0 D). In the series he has won three battles. This 23-year-old kid is all business as he reminds me of someone from my neighborhood which was deadly. In referencing his bio on AXN our suspicions were confirmed as it reads, Jordan was brought up amongst the rowdy hooligans on the streets of Leeds, which gave him his tough and fearless attitude.

When the show first went on the air Watson appeared to be a child amongst men but as it progressed it was obvious that this kid can fight. In his first fight his challenger called him out and told him prior to the match being made that he wanted him. He got him and now we're certain he realizes that he made a bad decision. We really like this fighter as he appears to be the best of all fighters in the two series.

The Thai challenger Pidsanu Kunchat also best known as 'Mardsua' a name synonymous with "great" and "champion" within Muaythai circles, as a result of his achievements. He is 25 and has more experience. His record in 136 fights is Wins: 90 - Loss: 40 - KO: 27 - Draw: 6 - Titles: 5.

He also made a name for himself by defeating top Australian fighter John Wayne Parr, and by losing very narrowly to Yodsanklai the winner of the previous AXN Muay Thai fighting series.

Both are of equal in height 175 cm but Mardsua has the edge in weight 72.5 kg to Watson's 71 kg. Watson is our choice based on his skills and toughness. Mardsua has the edge since the series is filmed in the neighboring Thai country of Malaysia therefore he is the home boy. The series is also heavily weighted with Thai trainers and sponsors. But hey (!) this is also Thailand's sport.

As Mardusa says, "Muaythai is my sport, my hobby and my job. In Thailand, there are not many choices. You either work in the rice farms or you fight, and I chose fighting!"

Enthusiastic about his sport, Buddhism and his country's culture, Mardsua believes that Thai people are superior in the sport. Mardsua is also against aggressive personalities and states, "my pet peeves are aggressive people who speak too much, shout and belittle others. Needless aggression is a sign of weakness and of not being in control".
