Two former NFL (National Football League) players were extremely successful during the Amazing Race 32 by finishing fourth. There was stiff competition but they were pushed out of a five team alliance that felt the players were taking more than they were giving by sharing information on how to solve a task. Without the players knowing they were conspired on to be forced out of the race

THE DEVIL GOT ITS DUE?

Saturday, December 26, 2020

The big news is how bad karma caught up with former NFL players DeAngelo Williams and Gary Barnidge were eliminated from the Amazing Race 32 in fourth place. It seems that when the going gets tough the tough got going. In this case the tough went in the wrong direction and were forced out of the race.

A plot developed as a five team coalition that included the NFL players, worked together from the early stages of the race. They shared information that would help them survive elimination. The end game was to reach the finals and be the three finals teams that would have a chance to win the $ one million prize. When the alliance worked and it came down to that alliance becoming the FINAL FIVE team decisions were made. The four more brainy types got together and discussed how they were annoyed by the way the NFL players seemingly accepted help but seldom gave it.

It was at that point they decided to merge and plot how they could eliminate the players by not sharing information with them such as how to get through or a solution to a task.

Things got salty when the top 5 were in Siem Reap, Cambodia the NFL players didn't share information with a brother and sister sibling team of Indian decent. The sister of the team was upset and told DeAngelo exactly what she thought of him. She then laid out the bad karma edict.

When DeAngelo arrived at the legs finish line Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan asked about the experiences on the leg. He was inferring about the verbal clash of the two teams and lack of support. Williams said he didn't care what she thought and that this was a race and they both were tied at the task. He reasoned why he should help them when one of the last two teams would be eliminated and he didn't want to be that team. He said he didn't care what she thought. "This is a race!"

The twist is that the siblings were in the four teams that plotted to eliminate the NFL players. As fate would have it the plot backfired on them and the players won the battle of deceit.

The final turning point was a task to listen to a band play songs from countries they visited. The band played them out of order BUT the task was to place flags of those nations IN THE ORDER THEY VISTED where they first heard the songs.

From the start all were baffled until the new alliance of three got together and then realized that they had to place the flags in the order of the nations visited. They all tried various combinations until they found the right order.

When that team got it right they went back to the remaining two and they all proceeded to go through to the next task. As they watched the parade of teams moving on while they were denied help, the NFL players then realized that they were duped and a plot for their elimination had taken place. They then decided to take the penalty relax and then proceed to the finish line.

At the check in finish line the brother man Williams went ballistic and went homeboy from the hood on host Keoghan when he was asked if he had any regrets.

"Yes," Williams responded. "The race SUCKED. I could pay for it (traveling) myself and not rush!" His teammate Barnidge then injected that after Williams thinks about his experience he will change his mind.

Well that very well could be true since the brother-man was a star player in the NFL as a premiere two way (run & catch) running back for the Carolina Panthers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. In all probability star players such as him, in the new era of the current NFL game, are paid millions of dollars a season. At present we have no information on what Williams was paid during his career.

As a star player it's a no brianer that he has made millions of dollars during his career. From what we have researched a top NFL player today earns as much as $12 million a season. There are some exceptions for a superstar. Personal friends of mine that played in two different eras in the NFL and were All-pro players made much less.

My closest friend was former Philadelphia Eagles running back Timmy Brown who also was a member of the Baltimore Colts first Super Bowl team. His career was during the 1960's and as I recall he said the highest salary he made was $35,000 a season. This is recall from 50 years ago therefore I could be wrong.

Another friend was former Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills linebacker Isiah Robertson. His salary is clearer since information was kept more from the 70's decade. Wikipedia notes that he left the Rams due to a salary dispute and signed a four year contract with the Bills for the then record, for a linebacker, $1 million over four years.

Using 1964 as an example to compare in today's money $35,000 equals $294,000. Using 1974 as an example $1,000,000 equals $5,280,000.

Unfortunately both of my friends have passed away, Brown from dementia and Robertson from an auto accident.

But hey!!! Apparently smiley faces from all was the case in The Amazing Race when the contest finished with the customary greetings of the winners from all of the teams met them at the finish line.

The NFL dudes were also all smiles as were the siblings. But hey… we don't know what really happened behind the scenes.

The bottom line is money isn't everything but ones integrity is. It seems that WE THE PEOPLE (of America, as stated in the Declaration of Independence) are in a state of having a flawed mentality. Many of us westerners take too much for granted and fail to appreciate what life offers. Some of us fail to appreciate what we do and life has taken us.

Obviously this does not apply to that who are oppressed and unfortunate and that is the point. It's not about the money but the journey to enlighten one's life and being healthy.

Hey… listen up… I can preach if I want to. If you're one of those A-HOLES that choose not to wear a mask during the COVID PANDEMIC then I have every right to share my OPINIONS, at least I'm not placing other peoples lives in danger of dying.

The bottom line is to cherish our lives and stop complaining about it... but… most of all… RESPECT OTHERS… &

WEAR A MASK!
