TELESCOPES INVOLVEMENT BLURS THE VOICE'S CREDIBILITY

In what must be the biggest shocker in competitive vocal show history Judith Hill a contestant on The Voice was eliminated. The show aired last week in the USA but is scheduled to be televised in East Sunday, June 2nd on the AXN Network. This is the biggest shock since Pia Toscano was eliminated from American Idol during Idol's deceitful period following judge Simon Cowell leaving the program.

There is a common thread involved in the two eliminations that being the involvement of the so called auditing company Telescope. It is the mysterious company that lacks background or contact information on the Internet. Telescope has been involved in numerous questionable results on Idol. Since they were announced as being involved in auditing The Voice votes a couple of weeks ago the hail storm of controversy has arisen. In the past The Voice appeared to be much different from Idol since their results were not apparently based on appearance, race or age.

Without a doubt Hill and 16-year-old Danielle Bradberry have the best voices on the show. Hill is 30-years of age and has the experience of working with Michael Jackson. It has been reported that she has been criticized for her association with the now deceased superstar. If that is true it's an indication that since Telescope's involvement there is tampering and propaganda involved just as it was in their relationship with Idol.

Hill took the result in stride and recognized that it was a good experience being on the show. She also noted that she will be finishing her album that has yet to be associated with a record label. Her elimination is unfortunate as it now casts a shadow on the integrity of The Voice which we will consider eliminating from our recommended TV shows list.

It's hard to believe that the quality of voting has changed so drastically from undisputed results to now highly suspicious. Hill's departure is the most shocking since Jennifer Hudson was eliminated from Idol. Hopefully Hill will rebound as did Hudson in furthering her career without the Idol title.

Another surprise was the elimination last week (in Asia) of Kris Thomas who has an exceptional voice. Thomas' coach Shakira played a part of his downfall by giving him a song that was not suited for him. He did well but struggled throughout his performance as he felt uncomfortable with the material. Shakira stated that she wanted to test Thomas and show the world that he can do more than what he previously did to earn his move up the rankings. Winning is the goal and not testing a contestants skills. Her mistake cost a very talented singer that could negatively impact his career.

Two time winning coach Blake Shelton is on target to win his third coaching title since of all other judges have only one of the six remaining contestants to Shelton's three. His philosophy of having all country singers on his team validates his statement in making his team choices that country music is what he knows best thus he has all country artists.

Hill's elimination episode of a MUST WATCH as it may be the last time for the International public to see a truly talented singer. The show will be telecast Sunday June 2nd in East Asia with repeats throughout the week. Check the AXN website for the times and dates in your area.

The Voice appears to be going the failed route of Idol as much to the displeasure of Simon Cowell's statement that the show was turning into a popularity contest and not a competition to the find the best vocalist. HOW TRUE HIS STATEMENT WAS.

There is no question that the remaining contestants on The Voice are talented but the problem as we see it is the new involvement of Telescope that puts the integrity of The voice in doubt. Again we raise the question... WHO IS TELESCOPE?

UPDATE:

After viewing the performance show it was clear to see why Judith Hill was eliminated. It was not due to her voice but the poor selection of song by her coach Adam Levine. . Levine chose the upbeat "#thatPower" which is so diametrically opposite to the strength of her voice. Both Levine and Shakira are guilty of making mistakes in choosing the wrong song for their artists.

Their logic is they want to show how diverse their talent can be. When you put that logic into the perspective of sports when it's winning time that being the playoffs you go WITH YOUR STRENGTH. You don't leave a LeBron James or a Michael Jordan on the bench to try rookies when its crunch time and the game is on the line. The coach/judge should focus on having their talent WIN. Let the record company experiment after they have signed the artist as they have the time to take that chance. WINNING TIME IS WINNING TIME NOT EXPERIMENTAL TIME.

Shakira made that mistake with Kris Thomas and admitted to making another with one of her other talents. Credit goes to Shakira for being woman enough to admit her mistake. The question now is will Levine stand up and take the blame for basically assassinating one of the two best singers in the contest.... Judith Hill. To put it into one word that song... SUCKED.
