Three reality show finals are on tap this week including The Voice, Amazing Race and American Idol. The Voice is the best choice followed by the Amazing Race. This is the week to watch American Idol and The Voice to compare the quality of talent. IT'S WINNERS CHOICE TIME

Its crunch time as the winners of The Voice, The Amazing Race and American Idol will be decided this upcoming week. The Voice is telecast in America five and six days prior to its airing in Asia thus what you see tomorrow Sunday May 18th has aired in the US on Monday for the performances and Tuesday for the results.

This Sunday Asia will view The Voice Semifinals involving their TOP 5 contestants. In Asia the results show is consolidated with the performance show immediately after its airing. What viewers in Asia will see this Sunday is our favorite Josh Kaufman and country singer Jake Worthington were the only two to receive the public's vote to go through to the finals. Surprisingly 19-year-old Christina Grimmie from Marlton, New Jersey fell from grace and was, for the first time, in the position of being eliminated.

The bottom three included Kristen Merlin a Blake Shelton's convert to the country music genre and thrice saved Kat Perkins. Following each performing a song to be saved both Perkins and Merlin were eliminated via the instant (while on the air) public vote and Grimmie was saved. The results mean Shakira has no contestant in the final while Shelton coaches Worthington, Usher has Kaufman and Levine has his hopes for another title resting with his student Grimmie.

One irony is Levine originally coached Kaufman up until Battle Round 2 when the coaches pair two of their singers to compete against each other. Levine pitted Kaufman against the since eliminated Delvin Choice. After their performances Levine chose Choice over Kaufman.

The twist was at that time the two singers had a choice of three songs that both had to agree on and perform. Kaufman chose a Doobie Brothers song but gave in to Choice's selection of Stevie Wonders "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours." That was a bad decision on Kaufman's part since that song suited Choice's voice better. Usher was quick to pick up in that and saved Kaufamn for his team and since that time has advised and made better song selections for the blue eyed white soul singer (i.e. BLUE EYED SOUL).

Kaufman gives Usher the chance to be the first judge other than Shelton or Levine to win as a coach since Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green failed to do so.

This will be a good week for viewers to compare The Voice with the talent on American Idol as Idol will televise it finale. The Idol finalists are 18-year-old Jena Irene and Caleb Johnson. At the beginning of the season Irene was a wild card meaning she was saved by the judges. She is not a strong singer and is a tweener between pop/rock.

Johnson is a full blown rocker with a strong voice. Of the entire Idol contestants he is the only talent that can compare with the voices on The Voice as we have been critical in the lack of quality of vocal skills of the contestants on Idol compared to The Voice. The bottom line is this is the week for you to tune in and come to your own conclusion.

The Amazing Race final will be televised Monday in Asia. The sentimental favorite is the father and son team Dave and Connor O'Leary, who finished in 8th place in season 22. They dropped out of the race after finishing 1st in their final leg due to the father having ruptured his Achilles in a previous episode and had to return to the United States for surgery. They are strong, healthy and determined to win this race.

Should they win, the father at 60, will be the oldest contestant to do so plus they will be the only father and son to win the race in its history. The duo have five 1st place finishes this season.

Long shots are two female country singers Caroline Cutbirth and Jennifer Wayne (previously Kuhle), friends and country singers (formerly of Stealing Angels) who finished in 4th place in season 22. The girls have never finished 1st but have 3 2nd place finishes during the 11 legs of the race.

The most detested team in the finals is newlyweds Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly. These two have repeatedly gotten under the skin of the other teams as they are deemed to be selfish and cut throat. The couple has three 1st place finishes during this race. Reilly doesn't have an occupation. Her bio notes her as being a professional reality show contestant.

All of these shows will have repeats throughout the week with Idol having the most, its as if the Star World channel doesn't have anything else to televise. Stay tuned…

ULTIMATE FIGHTER - 19 - PENN vs. EDGAR

If you're a fight fan a show worth watching is the new season of Ultimate Fighter. Series 19 features teams coached by former UFC champions Frankie Edgar and B.J. Penn. There is some serious talent in this cycle most notably Eddie Gordan who trains with UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman. The show is televised on Fox Sports channel Thursday nights in East Asia.

Note: This past week the airing was preempted and delayed in favor of telecasting an Asian football tournament. It was televised 2 ½ hours after its normal telecast time.
