AMERICAN IDOL OUST BRANDON ROGERS

As they say it ain't over till it's over well it's over for American Idol contestant Brandon Rogers. The 28-year-old back-up singer to major recording stars was the victim of American Idol viewer voting as he tallied the lowest score among the final 12. As AI host Ryan Seacrest says Rogers is, "going home."

Rogers won't have far to go as he hails from North Hollywood, California just a few miles from the TV studio where he made his last AI appearance. Rogers committed the AI cardinal sin of forgetting the words to a song when he opened up the show featuring the final 12 contestants. When Seacrest announced that that he was voted out Rogers said he felt it was going to happen because he forgot the words.

Being the first contestant can be a detriment when it comes to the voting from viewers AFTER the completion of what turned out to be a two-hour show. In that length of time people can forget who did what when it comes time to vote. A contestant can be voted out not because they were so bad but that they were simply FORGOTTEN.

From the beginning of the show we make notes about the talent during their performance. Then we make notes of what the AI judges, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon (excuse me… SAYS) Cowell make.

We noted that Rogers voice broke and that he was straining during his performance. Jackson pointed out that Rogers forgot the words. Abdul noted Rogers was nervous and my man Simon (Says) demonstrably stated that Rogers was terrible, his dancing wasn't good, and he wasn't star quality and not good enough. America voted and agreed with Cowell.

It does raise the question can being the first performer on a two hour show prior to viewer voting be a detriment to the performer because they are more so forgotten than making an bad performance.

When the show was over quite frankly we forgot about Rogers but chose Chris Richardson, as the person that we thought would be eliminated. He was the 11th performer (next to last) during the last 15 minutes of the show.

Richardson was off the melody of the song, nervous and struggled with hitting the high notes. Jackson said he was half bad and half good, Abdul said, "You did a great job" and my man Simon (Says) said "dreadful, terrible, terrible" (yes he said it twice).

Rogers has a good voice but he did fail in his attempt to be the next American Idol. It seemed as if he didn't take his participation in the competition seriously enough and didn't dig down and play hard when it mattered.

With his stage experience as a back-up singer to the likes of Christina Aguilera and others Rogers had a professional advantage to compliment his voice. As they say... he didn't bring it.

AMAZING RACE ASIA LOOKING FOR CONTESTANTS

The Amazing Race Asia winners Zabrina and Joe Jer are featured in a promotional ad on the AXN network that the Amazing Race Asia reality TV show is looking for contestants for the next edition of the program.

Uh Oh!!! There is another modeling show that is to debut on the air in Southeast Asia this week. We're talking about the Victoria Secret Fashion Show that will be televised tonight Saturday March 17th on the Star World television network. But hey…. there's more.

Justin Timberlake is scheduled to be on the show. Hmmmmm…. Where's Janet Jackson when you need her?

Due to the length of this column The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency story will appear in our next Video Beat Saturday March 24.

Tyra Bank's Top Model show eliminated a contestant this week that was rude and spiteful to her housemates. She used the telephone for almost 4 hours despite requests from other models for her to be considerate and get of so they could use the phone. She refused.

After several vocal tirades with the models she became sick all of a sudden and couldn't make a photo shoot opting to go to the hospital. When the decision was made as to whom would be eliminated Banks pointed out that in the past series a model went to the hospital and was on IV but she still trekked through the jungles in Thailand and sat on an elephant and was the best of all models in doing the photo shoot.

Banks pointed out that in the modeling business that, "nobody cares if you're sick," and dismissed the inconsiderate, arrogant, disrespectful model.
