TRUMPS CUP FULL WITH UNDERACHIVING TV EXECUTIVE

It was simply a matter of time when TV executive Nely Galan was unceremoniously dismissed from the Celebrity Apprentice by boss Donald Trump after his cup of patience runneth over with Galan's lack of productivity while she seemingly was always flying under the radar while escaping being eliminated on previous episodes.

Previously Kiss bassist Gene Simmons rationale was questioned by Trump why he didn't bring Galan into the board room since the Donald felt that she was largely responsible for the task that a Simmons led team lost.

Trump also questioned another time he felt Galan should have been called into the board room after a girl's team loss but for some strange reason she wasn't called out and was spared questioning and possible elimination. Trump said that Galan was lucky up to this past episode and remained in the competition by the skin of her teeth.

It all came to an end as the girls team lost again when they failed to get the plot in a task. Each team was to create a "Living window" by using actors and actresses in a shop window to promote the new Vera Wang mattress line by Serta.

Omarosa was the ladies Project Manager and went up against former heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis and a team of men who readily admitted that the didn't have a clue how to think about a romantic, largely feminine targeted promotion. The Serta executive said that women were the primary decision makers when to came to choosing and buying a mattress.

Before this task began Stephen Baldwin wanted to resign as did Vinnie Pastore in the previous episode citing personal problems with Piers Morgan. Trump didn't want that to take place and asked Baldwin not to be a quitter. He persuaded Baldwin to move to the Empresario team and pointed out if he wanted to get back at Morgan to make the move and kick Morgan's ass.

In the previous boardroom meeting Morgan called Baldwin a hypocrite by his actions and his born again Christian stance. This was the first time that Trump moved someone over to another team without the intent to even the teams out. The girls didn't want to accept Baldwin on their team but Trump sternly stated, I'm the boss," and the change was firmly imprinted in concrete.

Baldwin missed the first day of this (two day) task, due to a prior church commitment. Tito Ortiz returned to the team after being in a professional fight the previous week.

The ladies had internal problems as well. Omarosa pointed out to Galan that her being a BIG TIME television producer and executive didn't come about by accident and that there was a reason for it. She then requested Galan to give her professional input of how to put the promotion together. The result being a romantic setting with model Carol Alt in a wedding dress being carried into the bedroom by Baldwin. It was a beautiful scene and everyone was pleased UNTIL they saw the men's promotion.

Due to the influence and clever slogan from country recording artist and songwriter Trace Adkins who came up with the words, 'World's Greatest Romance,' with Cleopatra and Marc Anthony being depicted by actors. The team put together a modern day setting with the actors on the bed equipped a digital camera, large plasma TV and cell phone.

The Serta executives wanted to move away from an existing "bridal" image, information Hydra learned during discussions with Vera Wang know for her bridal gown designs but now involved with the Serta mattress product. Wang and the Serta executive preferred the men's promotion because they thought outside the box by fashioning a more creative and original window than the women. They thought the women used a display using a newly-married theme, which was too conservative and lacked creativity.

Omarosa was reluctant to choose anyone to return with her to the board room. It was pointed out to her by old time Apprentice judge George Ross that business isn't done that way and tough decisions had to be made in business. She then chose Galan and Mary Lou Henner to return to the board room.

At last Trump had Galan right where he wanted her. He felt she got away with not being called into the boardroom two times in the past when he felt she was largely responsible for a loss. As the questioning/interrogation began you could see Trump salivating at the mouth and chomping at the bit to sink his teeth into Galan. He pointed out her previous lack of discretion and told her she was lucky not to have been fired in the past. "You were lucky (to be fired) maybe not twice but at least once," he said.

Trump felt that with her television production experience as a producer and executive that she should have recognized that the bridal idea was old and not creative enough. He then laid the bomb on Galan, "Nely, YOURÉ FIRED."

Galan's track record is remarkable considering how poorly she did on the show. The now 45-year-old former President of Entertainment for Telemundo she also created and executively produced the FOX reality series The Swan. Galán also served as a consultant to HBO and Time Warner on its Latin strategy in the U.S. and Latin America. In this two-year venture, Galán created multiple shows and helped launch HBO Ole, their channel in Latin America.

She also entered into a deal with Fox Corporation and Rupert Murdoch in 1994, creating content for the Fox network and helping Fox launch numerous channels into Latin America including: Canal Fox, Fox Kids, Fox Sports, and Sky. That year, The New York Times magazine put Galán on its cover and coined her the "Tropical Tycoon." In the world of go figure, this is it.
