NR Top 10 Columns featuring Scolari, Capello TOP LIST

There has been a shake up at the top for this months NR Top 10 ratings. Our August top 10 ratings list top the charts and the September Sports Notes column regarding the beautiful game of football pirates who neither have little regard for contracts nor possess integrity as they raid teams and lure players with humongous contract offers.

Former Beatle Ringo Starr, Felipe Scolari and Fabio Capello rocked to the top of the two most read Top 10 columns. The August edition topped the charts. A dispute with a reader regarding Thai recording artist Ta Ta Young nailed the third NR Top 10 ratings position. In the overall breakdown four Top 10 ratings columns made the list (1-2-3 & 6) followed by three Sports Notes columns (4-5 & 8) and two Video Beat columns (7 & 10) that deals with what's going on in the world of television programming and DVD's worth watching or purchased for your video library.

Our fastest Riser was our September Sports Notes column RAIDERS AREN'T LOST THEY'RE IN FOOTBALL noting how hypocritical can the statement be, 'The Beautiful Game'? We're talking football here as well as the games lack of ethics. It's a game which is supposed to influence youth around the world to fair play and sportsmanship. Football is a game that has gone out of control with teams raiding each other for their players at any price while disregarding ethics. We suggested that a salary cap is needed.

A barrage of news coverage from around the world followed that column regarding how salary caps won't work in the beautiful game. We say oh please. If you can't work it out then you shouldn't have the job. One guest pundit from ESPN in Singapore made an outrageous statement about how anyone can write now days in the world of blogs. We ask what are his journalist credentials.

The 2007 Year In Review made the list again taking the ninth position.

Last month our expose and intensive coverage on the NR Top 10 list of Laarni LoSala a contestant on the Philippine TV show Dream Academy noting what we felt was undue and unfair treatment towards her from the shows mentors, judges and fellow contestants. On the NR top 10 those stories took 7 of the Top 10 10 spots. This month that September NR op10 ranked sixth of our Top 10 stories. She eventually won the contest via viewer voting but in the process was put through more pain than Jesus.

Watching that torturous experience brought to mind what comedian Flip Wilson joked numerous times, "The Devil made me do it." We'd like to know what made those involved in that nightmare of a show to put that poor girl though such a dreadful experience. It was enough to scare her mentally for life and possibly worthy of a law suite.

Though that bloom is somewhat off that rose the subject maintained some interest as three columns regarding the matter resulted in taking three of the top 14 positions also registering the 13th & 14th spots.

The Video Beat MAX May 2008 column returned to the ratings in notching the 10th position. That features CNN TV talk show host Larry King taking on this past seasons American Idol top 10 finalists.

Of the Top 60 stories we samples the oldest story of interest is our Sports Notes November 2005 Extra Extra edition that rated 18th overall. That column highlights ESPN Asia sports analyst and former Cambodian National team coach Scott O'Donell.

TOP SECTIONS VISITED

The NR Top 10 ratings was the section most visited. That was followed by our Phnom Penh section and third place went to Travel Tips. The NBA's Los Angeles Lakers section raged up the charts and took the fourth position. Having covered the NBA for 20 years there is an extensive look at their history going back to the 80's Showtime era with Magic Johnson and the teams which won five championships during that period.

Some of those columns question the integrity of their winning three consecutive championships in 200-01 & 02 with Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal going at each others throats.

What clouds the issued is an NBA referee who worked some of those games was convicted last month for match fixing and consorting with gamblers. Some of those stories are written in the French language and are more in depth during the Magic Johnson era.

The Entertainment section is gaining traction and notched the fifth position. This section is becoming more popular due to our background and coverage of the music industry. We intend to do more in depth coverage in that area.

Sports rules as sports related sections took six of the Top 10 Most Visited Sections. The Business section dropped to the 12th spot but in the overall ratings there are more business stories being read than ever before.

NATIONAL RADIO PUBLISHED IN 5 LANGUAGES

National Radio is published in five languages, English, Thai, French, Russian and Khmer (Cambodian language). Any of our foreign language material and our Roman Wanderaugh columns are legally available ONLY on our National Radio site.

INTERNET THEFT?

In researching the findings we have found that search engines Yahoo, Google and MSN are all guilty of misleading the public. They have linked our story information to other sites without our permission. Those sites include Thai Visa, Washington University in the USA and UNESCO.

We have tried to contact Yahoo regarding this matter but there was no response. For our story on Digital Divide Data titled Bridging The Digital Gap Yahoo linked our information to UNESCO and Washington University web sites as noted below.

Cambodia (PDF) 13 James Loving, "DDD - Bridging the Digital Gap of Have and Have. Notes," (by James Loving, National Radio Text Service, 8 April 8, ... www.unescobkk.org/fileadmin/user_upload/ict/Metasurvey/CAMBODIA.PDF - 117k - View as html

The questions are:

1. Why would a company that is valued at billions of dollars employ dishonest practices?

2. Who is responsible for manipulating information that is misleading to the public?

3. Who is responsible at UNESCO in permitting the practice?

Yahoo used the same story to mislead the public to the Washington University (USA) web site as noted below:

Cambodia (PDF) 13 James Loving, "DDD - Bridging the Digital Gap of Have and Have. Notes," (by James Loving, National Radio Text Service, 8 April 8, ... www.com.washington.edu/ict4d/upload/2004052712430458_03760155.pdf - 117k - View as html WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY

Our Roman Wanderaugh columns have been linked to other web sites by all three search engines without our permission. The most flagrant violator is Thai Visa. We have contacted them in the past but they have ignored our request to take our stories off their site.

All three of the mentioned search engines have used our story information and linked it to Thai Visa without our permission. Thai Visa actually stole our story and posted it on their site. In the past they not only stole our Cambodia By Land & Sea story but also used our photo. Since that time the photo is not on our story on their site.

Google provides advertising for the site. The question is why would a company that is worth billions of dollars resort to supporting a web site that steals?

The information of our information page on the Google site also had the following endorsing going to the Thai Visa site. ©2007 Google - Google Home - Advertising Programs - Business Solutions - About Google FRONT PAGE WITH THAI VISA

MSN did the same. They listed incorrect information and linked our work to Thai Visa as noted below:

Thaivisa.com The latest updated Thai visa immigration news; work permit and residence permit in ... Friday, 15 December 2006 Cambodia visa trip "TRAVELING AROUND" by Roman Wanderaugh o www.thaivisa.com/344.0.html o ¡¤ 7/14/2007 o ¡¤ Cached page

MSN also listed the headline TRAVELING AROUND on the Cambodia Land & Sea story. It raises the question why was it necessary to make two listings on the same story to link to the Thai Visa site?

Roman Wanderaugh and any other National Radio columns are only legally available on the Internet on National Radio. We DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION for any other web site to use our material including soliciting our photos to the public.

We negotiate directly with interested parties for use. We are published in print in five languages. We do not approve of Thai Visa using our material and all of the search engines misleading the public to other web sites using National Radio information.

Isn't a search engines job to lead the public to the information they seek? It is clearly stated on our National Radio web site:

© Copyright: National Radio. Any use of these materials, whole or in part, is prohibited unless authorized in writing by National Radio. Contact: nationalradio@yahoo.com All rights reserved.

The questions are:

1. Where is the integrity of these companies?

2. Why should people do business with web sites that employ illegal practices?

3. If search engine companies render misinformation regarding linking the public to web sites they aren't searching for while stealing the traffic from the site the public intends to reach does that reflect on the accuracy of the value of their business that could inflate the value of their stock?

4. Is there an ENRON in the house?

We believe that a search engine should take the public to the web sites they are trying to find and not misdirect them. FULL STORY NEXT MONTH.
