American Idol is better off without the bias of Jennifer Lopez - (FOX photo)

Other than his frequent sexist remarks Steven Tyler was the most professional of the American Idol judges. He will be missed - (FOX photo)

Since the initial airing of American Idol judge Randy Jackson remains. Since Simon Cowell's departure from the show Jackson is now suffering from Cowell's diarrhea of the mouth disease with his repeated agonizing verbal CV's - (FOX photo)

In their first season together it started out with good chemistry. They all seemed to get along and the chemistry and respect for each other worked. As time went by Jackson asserted himself into Cowell's lead role and started calling out the names of the judge next to critique i.e. what about you Jennifer or Steven. THE BIAS JUDGING HAD TO GO

Finally something is being done about the deterioration of American Idol and once proud show that was originally designed to discover the best voice in America. Over the past few years it has disintegrated into an embarrassing show that is like a dog chasing its tail.

The resignation of judge Steven Tyler was the first step in a change although of the three judges Tyler was the most rational and least wordy while in his critiques he got to the point. His only problem was early on his over the top sexist remarks which are what Tyler and Rock n Roll is all about. After he toned his act down he was the most on point of the judges except his over the top criticism of Holly Cavanagh. Near the end of the season you could see the look of disenchantment on Tyler's face. It appears that he recognized he was in a bullshit situation. He will be missed.

The best move was the following day Jennifer Lopez resigned and she had to go. In her second season she was a waste and an embarrassment to what little remained integrity of the show. When she made the remark early on the elimination number 9 show while critiquing Phillip Phillips, "I want you to win Phillip." That was it for us and the authenticity of the show continued to go down hill from there. The nerve of this insecure aging individual was annoying and unfair to the other contestants. Her comment was totally out of place.

How abusive that must have been to the other contestants to hear that a judge was openly rooting for the eventual winner Phillips that early in the season. Her cheerleading was very influential in the result of the Phillips win. If the shows principles were in tact she should have been cautioned about such remarks or removed from the show immediately and shown the same door out of the studio as was Jermaine Jones.

The cheerleading and disgraceful practice of judges promoting themselves indicates the program has lost the plot and needs an overall house cleaning.

Randy Jackson is the greatest violator of self promotion. He has been there from the beginning and that is too long. The egotistical critic needs to go and be replaced by an individual that will judge and not talk about how great they think they are in presenting their oral CV. How many times do we have to listen to Jackson's relationship wit Mariah Carey and the band Journey?

In their first season together it started out with good chemistry. They all seemed to get along and the chemistry and respect for each other worked. Lopez was fresh and ebullient and seemed to have shed the negative egotistical and rude behavior of her past. As time went by Jackson asserted himself into Cowell's lead role and started calling out the names of the judge next to critique i.e. what about you Jennifer or Steven.

By the second half of this past season (their second together) you could see the disenchanted look on Tyler's face particularly following one of Jackson's long critiques and self promotions. His dawg comments decreased but his verbiage did not it went into overdrive.

Last season one could notice the trios judgment flaws when they saved Casey Abrams in the Top 11 position. It is safe to say that Abrams had the greatest overall talent of the group with his stellar musicianship, humor and warm personality. What he doesn't have is a good voice and eventually a contestant with perhaps the season's best voice Pia Toscano was eliminated. That was the red flag that producers should have noticed and a rule should have been put in place that the save could not be used until the PUBLIC decided the Top 10.

There is plenty of talk about who should replace Lopez and Tyler. There is also a buzz that it is Jackson's time to go and an entire housecleaning is required. We agree with all of that. We don't agree with the reasons why some of the suggested replacements are not qualified and why others should be. Stay tuned…

PART 2 - Suggestions for replacement judges border being INCESTUOUS & ludicrous

SPARTACUS VENGEANCE

If you're a fan of the series Spartacus Vengeance then tune in tonight (in Asia) as it is the season's double episode finale on MAX (Cinemax). Should you miss it will repeat tomorrow evening at 11:15 PM Thailand time. Please note the schedule below.

TRUE BLOOD

For True Blood fans the new season is currently in progress with a new episode every Saturday with a repeat on Tuesday on HBO. The show is not as good as it was during the first two seasons. Now airing season five the problem stems from two many characters whose roles are blurred with overlapping plots. For a TV series to break even the networks say they need five seasons worth of programming. With the way the series has lost its punch of clearly defined character roles it appears this will be its last.

MORE MAX

MAX (Cinemax) is a spin-off of HBO. When the brand was initially announced its purpose was to provide cutting edge programming for a more youthful audience that differentiated from HBO's. Since that time it has changed with their abundance of old films such as those with Charles Bronson and other actors of the 60's era. What are saving both networks are their original productions of Game of Thrones, Spartacus and True Blood.

Obviously there is a lack of quality programming to supply the now numerous outlets on the Internet and new networks that have evolved sine the early days of television when there were only THREE networks in the business. Since the birth of cable TV in the late 70's with Showtime and HBO the game has changed necessitating a programming void that needs to be filled.
