THE BEATLES & PARIS HILTON MEET LARRY KING

Let It Be is one of the Beatles greatest hits and Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Star will be appearing on the Larry King show TODAY at 4 PM Cambodia/Thailand time.

The Beatles are recognized as being one of the greatest recordings artists of all-time. Band members Paul McCartney and Ringo Star are scheduled to be the guests on the Larry King Show televised in Southeast Aasia Wednesday June 27. The show airs at 4:00 PM in the Thailand/Cambodia time zone.

Olivia Harrison the former wife of the now deceased George Harrison and and Yoko Ono the former wife of the deceased John Lennon are also scheduled to appear.

King is recognized as being one of the best interviewers of all time. He asks the hard questions but is respectful enough to back off when a guest feels uneasy. That is one of the reasons that King earns the trust of his guests. That is one of the reasons the King can obtain guests for free since the show doesn't pay for interviews.

Let It Be can also be applied to PARIS HILTON who got her get out of jail free card yesterday and will appear on the show tomorrow (Thursday June 28 at 4 PM Thailand/Cambodia time).

So what does she think of King? She made her comments in a press release as follows:

“I am thrilled that Larry King has asked me to appear on his program to discuss my experience in jail, what I have learned, how I have grown and anything else he wants to talk about. Larry King is not only a world-renown journalist, but a true American Icon. It will be an honor to do his show.”

You can say what you want about hotel heiress Paris Hilton but one thing you can't say is that she doesn't know how to get attention and publicity.

Her most recent bouts with the law have talk shows wagging their tongue's about the 26-year-old heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune and her apparent disrespect towards authority.

Hilton's being put in and let out of jail over a DUI (Driving Under the Influence of alcohol) offense sparked public outburst that resulted in her return behind bars where she continues to be drawing publicity. Yes we are guilty as charged as we step on the Hilton pub bandwagon.

The latest is speculation that Hilton is receiving payment for interviews while being behind bars. That prompted a press release from the PR firm representatives as follows:

LOS ANGELES-- (BUSINESS WIRE)--A spokesman for Paris Hilton today released the following statement in response to media and other inquires:

"Contrary to media reports, Paris Hilton is not being paid for any television interview. Nor is Paris being paid for any collateral, including video and photographs related to any television interview."

Hilton is recognized as being a socialite, entrepreneur, model, actress and recording artist. In Southeast Asia she is best known for her video CD's and her Fox reality series The Simple Life that aired in Asia on Fox's Star World channel.

In 2003 Hilton rose to fame when an amateur sex video depicting her later titled 1 Night in Paris was leaked onto the Internet. The release of the tape attracted worldwide publicity.

PINOY BIG BROTHER CONTROVERSY

The Pinoy Big Brother show is embroiled in controversy with just one week to go before it is decided by viewer voting who will wear the crown for the 2007 Big Brother Season 2 title. This is the fourth Pinoy Brother show in a year and a half on the ABS-CBN Network.

Last year ABS-CBN produced THREE Big Bro shows that included the first consisting of regular people the second of Philippine celebrities and the third a teen edition. Girls have won all three competitions.

From that the network has gleaned numerous talents for their existing and new television programs to accommodate their network programming expansion for an International growth. But here's the twist…

There are rules to the show that none of the contestants should come into contact with the outside world while on Big Bro.

Two of the contestants Bruce and Wendy were involved in a romance AFTER they were set up on a blind date contrived by the shows producers. That relationship became popular with the viewers.

Bruce was then sent to Slovenia in an exchange agreement whereupon one of the Slovenian housemates came to the Philippines. At the time neither knew how long the arrangement was for.

Wendy yearned for her newfound love. The separation lasted for a week.

What she didn't know is that he had a girlfriend on the outside that came to light later on in the series.

Bruce returned to the show after having experienced racism in Slovenia that resulted in one Slovenian housemates being expelled from the house.

After his return Wendy was somewhat cool to him apparently jealous over the attention he received from the other Pinoy housemates in their greeting. She seemed to want all of his attention and sulked.

Surprisingly she was evicted from the house in a very narrow margin of less than 3 %.

Without her presence and the dynamic between she and Bruce the show lacked the spark it once had.

While she was back in public life she appeared on television shows such as Home Boy's The Buzz that bolstered her popularity with the public who wanted to know all they could about her feelings towards Bruce.

In a SHOCKING MOVE the Big Bro producers BROKE ALL THE RULES when they permitted four of the former evicted housemates to return to the house on a trial basis. Wendy was among them.

Fan voting was to determine who would return and remain in the house. It was a no-brainer that due the growing popularity that Wendy gained from being on the outside by making public appearances that she would win…and she did.

The fact that she gained information of her popularity while being outside gives her an unfair advantage to the other housemates that don't know what's going on outside.

In the process Wendy was like a presidential candidate making public appearances to bolster an image while the other housemates are left in the blind.

Wendy is talented. As housemate Mickey pointed out, "She can dance, she can sing and she can act…Po," Her attractive looks and large breasts (as housemate Nel pointed out) doesn't hurt her popularity.

There are seven housemates remaining including three girls and four boys vying for a first prize of one million pesos cash (US $20,000), a house, car, a water bottling business and a trip abroad for two.

Recently arguments ensued between the three girls. Gee-Ann one of the original six housemates is having it out with Wendy and is Bea who was added to the show after it was in production for a couple of weeks. The question of backstabbing has arisen and ulterior motives.

Making it to The BIG FOUR is the goal for the remaining seven as the top four will all win prizes including trips abroad for two.

Should Wendy win given her unfair advantage of being outside, making TV appearance and then returning not only broke the rules but it would result in the biggest farce on reality television since Lakisha Jones was accused of screaming by Simon Cowell that resulted in her losing face to the public and dropped from the show and last season's lambasting of contestant Iya by a judge on the Pinoy Dream Academy that resulted in her being dropped early in the show even though she has the best voice of all of the contestants (my opinion).

The question is why were the rules broken? Was it to boost ratings and project what is perceived as good television or some other reason?

To recommend viewing the show is a crapshoot. The show has never adhered to a regular time slot. Friday night they broke the record for going on late at 10:55 PM

In the past THIS SEASON the show has aired as early as 8:15 PM. It's most regular time slot is 10:15 PM. It's a case of go figure.

The FINAL is scheduled to air June 30TH ON TFC (The Filipino Channel). What time? GO FIGURE.

UPDATE Wednesday June 27

The Big Bro couple of Bruce and Wendy that has captured the imaginations of Philippine TV fans have been separated as Bruce was evicted from the house last night after receiving only 6.35% of the votes. Another eviction will take place tomorrow night Thursday June 28. The final four will compete for the title Saturday night June 30. Stay tuned.

Sunday June 24

Nel was evicted on last nights show (Saturday June 24) receiving only 3 3/4% of the votes. He was in the first group of six to enter the house in the first week of the show. He currently holds the record of those that have been evicted for the amout of days in the house.

Wendy was the last to be saved. The top four saved were Bodi, Gee-Ann and Bea, Bruce.

THE APPRENTICE

In the It's On category, Donald Trumps Apprentice is one that shows Asian youth can learn what it takes to be involved in top level business in the USA.

One could argue that it's unrealistic for Asian youth to aspire to that. The point being is that The Apprentice program is a better influence than rap music depicting violence and women as ho's (whores)? It's a matter of choice and what one chooses to do with their time and influences.

The current Apprentice series was televised last summer on Malaysia's TV 3. This is the worst of the bunch due to a poor cast. In television they say that after the script CASTING IS EVERYTHING.
