BIG BROTHER RACISM - WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?

Rodney King said it best in his plea to the public regarding racism, Why can't we all just get along."

The problem is that King said that after having his head beat in with nightsticks by the LAPD (Los Angles Police Department) when he was arrested for DRUNK DRIVING and resisting arrest.

A little harsh one might reason for such a minor charge but it happened. As a result King won a US $ 1 million law suite from almost being beaten to death.

And that sets the scene of how racism plays out in the world and it was played out again in January when Indian actress Shilpa Shetty was subject to it on Britain's Big Brother television show.

Now only three months later racism raised its ugly head again but this time it involved two Big Brother shows.

One of my favorite shows to watch is Pinoy (Philippine) Big Brother that airs on TFC (The Filipino Channel). It's a great show because though they speak both English and the Philippine language IN THE SAME SENTENCE the participants always have interesting personalities.

Being one that is interested in other cultures and behavioral characteristics the Philippine people are the most colorful and expressive thus providing interesting television shows.

Last month the Pinoy Brother and Slovenia Big Brother TV show exchanged people with Bruce a 25-year-old former college basketball player going to Slovenia in exchange for Tina a blond bombshell for one week though they didn't know when they departed how long the exchange would be for.

Bruce, a very polite, intelligent person was surprised about the exchange and reluctant to go in part because he started to become fond of a female housemate and the trip kind of got in the way of developing the relationship further.

He went to Slovenia with an open mind or as they say go with the flow attitude as he informed his new Slovenian housemates when he arrived.

When Tina arrived in the Philippines she seemed a nervous and apprehensive when she arrived a the Big Bro house but became at ease when her new Philippines housemates showed their interest in her, Slovenia and her Big Bro housemates.

The housemates taught her about Philippine food and the tropical fruits, which she loved, and how to dance a popular dance to a popular Philippine song that's lyrics are about being proud to be a Filipino.

Bruce's arrival was a bit tense but from what video clips they showed on TV he was OK. He tried to warm up his new housemates by cooking them food that they seemingly enjoyed because there were no leftovers.

Tina became very friendly with her Philippine housemates as she enjoyed doing the humorous tasks and dancing with her new friends. As she departed she said she would never forget them and that Nel who has a comedic personality was her favorite.

When Bruce departed you could see the stress, as he was anxious to return to the WARM Philippines and his friendly housemates.

After his return the BOMB HIT. It was revealed that two of the Slovenian housemates said some racist remarks about Bruce that resulted in one being expelled from the house.

When you see something like this unravel before your eyes on television particularly when Bruce was trying to be friendly but was resented because of racist attitudes it alL goes back to Rodney King's statement… "WHY CAN'T WE (people in the world) ALL GET ALONG?

Pinoy Big Brother airs daily but the time varies due to the irregularities of network scheduling. Friday the show usually scheduled to air at 10:15 PM went on 40 minutes late at 10:40 PM. The Saturday evening show usually is televised at 8:45 PM but in the past also went on late from 9:00 to 9:15 PM.

All show usually air every day at 4:30 PM. All times are for the Thailand/Cambodia time zone.

TV HOST TONI GONZAGA BUSTED

Philippine actress/model/TV host Toni Gonzaga missed hosting last nights Pinoy Big Brother TV show's 4th Expulsion Night due to an accident she had shooting a commercial. Gonzaga busted her lip taking a dive into a swimming pool and she required medical care. She is expected to heal in time to host the 5th Expulsion Night. Expulsion nights are televised on Saturdays...

KIM CHUI NO LONGER SWEET SIXTEEN

Actress/singer Kim Chui the winner of last seasons Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition a few days after turning sweet sixteen celebrated her 17th birthday last month. Within a year the talented youth is now a big star in the Philippines due to her hit record and staring on several TV show and making appearance on the variety show ASAP…

AMAZING RACE ALL-STAR FINAL

Tomorrow (Monday May 7) the Amazing Race All-Star FINAL will air on the AXN Network. All of the contestants appeared on previous Amazing Race shows but none have won.

The three remaining teams are the two beauty queens who finished first on the last leg, the two cousins one a lawyer and the other the smallest adult ever to appear on the show and two love birds that were competing against each other on a previous show.

After the race they became a couple but their relationship is being tested due the stress of the competition. Who will win? Tune in, we're rooting for the little people. The show repeats throughout the week, SEE SCHEDULE BELOW...

PHIL STACY & CHRIS RICHARDSON ELIMINATED FROM AMERICAN IDOL

It's down to the final four as Phil Stacy and Chris Richardson were voted out of the contest.

The voting was based on accrued votes from the week before that totaled 135,000 a new American Idol record.

The votes weren't counted against anyone the previous week since it was a fundraising show that raised over US $70 million to help the poor in Africa and America.

Both Stacy and Richardson left the show in a classy way by noting their appreciation to the fans that kept them in the competition so long.

Stacy who famed recording artist and an American Idol coach Tony Bennett said that Stacy was one of the best voices that he's heard in a long time. Stacy left the show by singing, "I'm Going Down In A Blaze of Glory."
