LAKISHA JONES ELIMINATED FROM AMERICAN IDOL - ASAP NEW TIME - TOP MODEL FINAL - PINOY BIG BROTHER AMAZING RACE WINNERS - Recommended TV schedule

AMERICAN IDOL PERSECUTE LAKISHA JONES

WE TOLD YOU SO…. American Idol's Lakisha Jones appeared to be set up to fail and it finally happened as she felt the bite Simon Cowell's bloody fangs and was eliminated from the competition in the fourth position after his scathing remarks.

After being berated by Cowell three weeks ago the following week the Englishman took an about face and eased up on the lady with the best voice in the competition. Three weeks ago Cowell accused her of screaming her lyrics. Sorry Simon… we disagree.

After that episode we questioned his ethics. His fellow judges Paul Abdul and Randy Jackson jumped on the crucify Lakisha bandwagon. The following week the show had a fundraiser and did not eliminate anyone. All was love and peace in AI town.

Last week they eliminated two, Phil Stacy and Chris Richardson. Jones escaped with praise from Cowell and a kiss. That turned out to be a kiss of death.

This past week when Jones was first introduced to sing the first of her two songs AI host Ryan Seacrest noticed how tense she was and asked why. She nervously responded and attributed it to a rough day.

In reality it seemed like a boxing match when the fighter is told beforehand that they were chosen to lose the match. She already seemed to know that it was over before the show began.

The theme of the evening was to sing a Bee Gees song and she chose Staying Alive. We said it was OK. Randy said it was "Weird for me," Paula said, "Eh" and Simon (SAYS) said, "You're screaming again. The vocal was scary in parts."

At this point let us bow our heads and pray….

Forgive him Lord, for he knows not what he say.

OK…back to the story.

Later in the show when Jones returned to sing her second song Run To Me that we said was extra good. Randy Jackson said, "That was good," Paula said, "Versatile champ," and Simon (SAYS) said, "It wasn't great. You and Blake (Lewis) are vulnerable tonight."

With that death wish said America voted and the following day the result was they listened to Simon's OFF THE MARK negative comments and Lakisha Jones was eliminated.

Here's the deal. If Simon Cowell were Quincy Jones and made those comments I would at best ask to hear the performance again. In Cowell's case it's not worth the time.

Cowell has publicly admitted that he can't write or produce a song. He proudly notes that he gets paid (millions of US $) to judge and criticize. He once bragged that a person asked him to judge a sex act with his spouse for US $100,000. Fortunately Cowell turned that request down.

On an Australian television talk show Cowell once appeared and they showed a picture of him sporting shoulder length hair with his band. The band recorded an album that failed. He then gave up his pursuit to be a recording star.

If Simon Cowell weren't Simon Cowell I would suggest that he be removed from the show. BUT… because he is Simon Cowell and does such a good job at it by being recognized for his rudeness and executioner manners the show wouldn't work because he makes the program tick. Without him the show would more than likely fail.

The point being that Cowell is so swept up in his own celebrity status that it very well could be overwhelming his rationale in judgment. He's focused on how to make wordy caustic statements to enhance his celebrity and less about making accurate decisions.

Lakisha Jones should be in the final three. At that point it would be a tough choice as it would be a matter of taste since Jordin Sparks and Milinda Doolittle are strong in different ways and worthy of winning.

In deference to Blake Lewis he did have a bad day with his vocals being all over the place and erratic. Ironically he has a super talent and personality that we feel would work on a sitcom television show where he could incorporate his beat-box vocalizing skills. He and Jordin have great potential as stars on a television sitcom.

The Lakisha Jones issue raises some questions of how does American Idol tabulate their votes?

1. Who is monitoring the count?

2. Are there any companies OUTSIDE of American Idol taking responsibility of the accuracy of the voting such as they do with the voting for the Academy Awards and Grammy's?

Yes… THERE ARE right and wrong answers.

So it's now down to the final three

And who is it we're gonna see

That will be named the next AMERICAN IDOL.

STAY TUNED.

TOP MODEL:

The final of the reality modeling show America's Next TOP MODEL will be televised this week beginning Monday night May 14.

We already know who won but to give you a hint the winner shares the honor with one other model as being the tallest to win the competition.

Reruns of the show will continue through next Monday afternoon May 21. Please note the schedule below.

ASAP

The ASAP variety show from the Philippines has had a schedule change and has been moved back an hour and now commences at 1:00 pm.

An interesting twist to the show is Pinoy Dream Academy winner Yeng Constantino and runner-up Ronnie Liang are now featured singing standard songs that show their voice off better than the rock song they previously sang.

The remainder of the Dream Academy top six have been on tour in the USA and created quite a stir in San Diego, California.

FULL STORY COMING...

PINOY BIG BROTHER

Wendy and Dione have been evicted from the Pinoy Big Brother house.

FULL STORY COMING.

AMAZING RACE

FYI…Eric and Danielle won the Amazing Race. They both were previously in the same race with different partners. Eric and his male friend previously finished second. After having a huge lead they failed at the last task that was to put the country flags in the order they visited on the race. There were three extra flags to throw the teams off. Another team came from behind and won ON BRAINS.

That is a good feature on the race that would make the event more interesting if incorporated on a regular basis. The beauty queens finished second and the two cousins third. Both all female teams were in line to be the first all female team to win the race. An all female team did win the Amazing Race Asia.
