American Idol Gives Back $60 Million and Counting! - Over 70 million votes setting a new American Idol and world record. - SHOCKING RESULT - SANJAYA FOR PRESIDENT??? - In The (White) House - Johnny Cash Movie "Walk The Line" - Recommended TV schedule

American Idol Gives Back

It was one hell of a night as American Idol featured the final six and the American Idol viewers were geared up to see who would be the next to go home and join Sanjaya in American Idol reject heaven. He was gone but not forgotten.

The Sanjaya-man was in the audience WITH HIS SISTER. Sorry bought that… I LIKE HIS SISTER.

The former American Idol heat-throb was busy after his elimination last week as he was a guest at the Correspondents dinner at White House in the nations capitol Washington D.C. according to CNN's Jeannie Most.

But that was then and this is now as the final six contestants had to wait through a two-hour show that was theme Idol Gives Back. It was a fundraiser to help the poor in Africa and the USA.

Major talent performed throughout the show that was held in two venues the regular Idol stage as well at the Walt Disney Concert Hall where the guest stars performed. Ellen Degeneres who also hosted the Academy Awards show when Jennifer Hudson won her Oscar hosted those segments.

As Idol host Ryan Seacrest ran through his routine on the main stage he teased the Idol contestants by drawing out the elimination process by eliminating a bottom three and announced the results one at a time in roughly 15-minute increments. It was enough for those contestants who weren't saved in the first hour a case of the piles having to wait and wait and wait to see if they were the one to go home.

In that category was Lakisha Jones who was the fourth save, Chris Richardson who was the fifth saved and that left 17-year-old sensation Jordin Sparks.

As she herd the news to her credit she looked composed and didn't appear as though as she was going to cry as many of the previous entrants did. As she waited patiently for Seacrest to lower the boom she looked toward the host who then made a SHOCKING ANNOUNCEMENT.

Seacrest said that she was safe too and noted that since this was a fundraising show to help people that it wouldn't be right that someone should be eliminated on such an occasion.

Well so much for the good guys at American Idol, they said THE RIGHT STUFF.

Seacrest said that the record setting 70 million votes would go forward and be accounted for with this weeks show and that TWO PEOPLE WOULD BE ELIMINATED. Ohhh Myyyyy!!!

NOTES:

The final six consist of a nice group of people that seem to like each other and work well and blend together when they sing in ensemble. Regardless who your favorite Idol is it will be a tough choice for the voters. Each of the contestants has an appeal.

With that said we serve up our opinions of the FINAL SIX IDOLS.

1. Melinda Doolittle - has been the most consistent in her strong performance and stage presence. She has made good song choices.

2. Lakisha Jones - Has the best quality and strongest voice. We don't give a damn what Simon says and really don't get what he's talking about when he says she screams. He needs to eat some soul food and head over to Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles restaurant and perhaps that will cure his hearing problems.

Randy and Paula have been influenced by Simon's comments and have agreed with him and Randy is a BRO.

It seems as though as there is a fix in to eliminate Lakisha. There are only two singers in the contest that can challenge her talent.

3. Jordin Sparks - The most improved of the bunch. She has a crossover appeal for soul, pop, rock and theater fans. She's young and has an appeal to an audience that no other contestant has.

4. Phil Stacy - Has the best quality voice of the male singers. Simon (Says) he thinks that Stacy has a future in country music.

Legendary recording artist/performer Tony Bennett who served as a vocal coach for the contestants said that Stacy has one of the best voice's he's heard in a long time.

We voted and as Seacrest says, "Agree with Simon." Of course Seacrest is referring to America's voting as in "America voted and agree with Simon."

5. Bake Lewis - This beat-box guy is the most interesting character. He has a lot of potential and great personality. From the audition stage he has come a long way. During the audition stage he was teamed up with some talent that wasn't in his league and their poor performance could have hurt his chance but he was strong enough to overcome those shortcomings.

6. Chris Richardsion - A conscientious hard worker who is still searching for his strength. So there you have it. Those are my thoughts on the remaining talent. I have a feeling that this week the viewing public will be in FOR A SHOCKER. STAY TUNED….
