The country boy Blake Shelton coached The Preacher Man, Todd Tilghman to The Voice Season 18 title. It was Shelton's first coaching win after four straight losing seasons as he continued his record setting pace with his 7th win overall. Coach Kelly Clarkson was generous with her praise and offerings to singers that were not on her team. What did she do, what did she say? Read on…

HE'S BACK!!! BLAKE SHELTON is in the WINNERS CIRCLE AGAIN

Wednesday, May 20, 2020

What can you say? The country boy Blake Shelton is in the winners circle again as being the winning coach on THE VOICE Season 18. This time the Oklahoma gargantuan masterfully was teamed up by The Preacher Man Todd Tilghman and coached him to the Season 18 title. It was the 1st time that the first artist in the Blind Auditions went on to win the entire season.

It was the first time Shelton won the competition after four straight losing seasons. The team came together more s due to TIlghman chose Shelton after a four chair turn. Every coach wanted the Pentecostal preacher and Shelton was Tilghman's CHOSEN ONE.

Throughout the competition Shelton was overwhelmed by the explosive energy from the 42-year-old from Meridian, Mississippi. Having turned 43 during the competition Tilghman became the oldest winner in the series history. Josh Kaufman was the record holder when he was 37 during season 6.

There's an irony here as The Voice has a reputation of not having a winner go on to have a great career. Some have a hardworking careers but not big time stardom. American Idol winner Carrie Underwood's name is often brought up regarding this subject.

Although Idol can't claim credit for the monstrous success of Jennifer Hudson the fact remains that Hudson was a contestant on Idol and verbally shamed by then judge Simon Cowell who said that she was out of her element.

Kauffman went on to perform in a theatrical show Broadway (NY) but no The Voice winner has gone on to have a hit record. Now here's where things get interesting.

Given that this season's programming was altered due to the COVID-19 quarantines all of the contestants that competed in the finals gained experience with having to learn video production. Each contestant was sent a video production kit from The Voice. Each finalist had to learn how to set it up and produce there songs and background settings from their homes.

Now here's the twist… coach Kelly Clarkson broke down in tears telling Tilghman how much she enjoyed his talent. She noted that she wanted to come to his church not only to hear him sing but to hear his preaching. Of course Tilghman gave her an open invitation.

Now here's the BIG PICTURE… due to his TV production learning experience Tilghman now has the knowledge to take his talent and words of faith to the world due to the popularity of the You Tube channel and other social networking systems. He can be the next coming of the modern day Jim Baker… BUT… in an honest way.

Hey I would even go social networking to hear and watch his show. What's the saying… PRAISE JESUS? Well during these grave COVID-19 times it's time for many of us to get some religion.

Clarkson was handing out praises and opportunities to contestants that weren't on her team. She was so overwhelmed by Toshina Harris' talent that she invited her to appear as a guest on her show when she appears in Las Vegas. Harris was on Shelton's team and finished one of two runners-up with Thunderstorm Artis.

Artis was on newcomer coach Nick Jonas' team making it a worthy start for the brother (pun intended).

But the most outstanding star of this season was THE VOICE'S technical production team. Having to overcome a COVID-19 production nightmare and with no precedence they pulled off a masterful job. It was so amazing they should win a TECHNICAL PRODUCTION EMMY if there is such a thing. If not... this is the year to establish such and award.

Be Healthy... Be safe… and stay home…
