James Loving - National Radio Text Service

Sports stories rule the All-Time International reader's interests in taking seven of 10 Top 10 positions on the ALL-TIME INTERNATIONAL TOP 10. The Williams tennis family made the most impact and Dennis Rodman made a strong effort in the most interesting section - A strong Southeast Asian flavor was added to the mix as former Thailand Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra made a stir as did former Thai national team football coach Peter Withe

THE INTERNATIONAL POINT OF VIEW

Our analysis was derived from sample from search engines from around the world. Our observations indicate that Google is not trustworthy and is more into sales than reporting the truth thus we took the obvious step to search for the truth. The momentum of our ratings results go back to our beginnings on the Internet in 1997 prior to Google becoming the 1 million ton deceiving gorilla.

In taking a look back over of our most read International stories over the years sports jumped up to take seven of the Top 10 positions. The top spot was our coverage on Cambodia's national football team's mysterious rise in the FIFA ratings while having a losing record in the process.

Another Southeast Asian story jumped up to take 2nd place as former Thailand national football team coach Peter Withe returned to coach after a long sabbatical. Since that story was published he has returned to his home in Perth, Australia and is available for a new managing post. When you read between these lines it points out how political sports can be. Withe is the winningest coach of the Thai national team yet ignored for his ability to manage teams to win games. In that story his record validates his success.

The 3rd spot was from eons ago from our coverage of the then Virginia Slims tennis tournament in 1998 Manhattan Beach, California. The focus at that time was on the Williams sisters with Venus being the sister with the most wins. In a post match press conference Serena was asked by a reporter why her father did certain things. A very young Serena replied that she didn't know and if the reporter wanted the answer for him to ask him (her father) who was standing to the side in plain view in the press room.

Another young reporter who was on his way to Boston to take a job with the Boston Globe said to me that he didn't think the girl's father was managing them properly. My response was he knew what he was doing and how to communicate with his then children. I then went to the father and told him he was doing a great job and shook his hand. He smiled and acknowledged my sentiment.

Obviously their father knew what he was doing given the fact that the sisters have had such stellar careers in spite of the media constantly demeaning him for the manner in which he communicated with his children. But here's the real deal... THERE IS A BACK STORY TO ALL OF THIS.

When the girls were first introduce to the media around the age of 11 and 12 the father allowed a local Los Angeles TV station to interview them. During the interview he interrupted the reporter and scolded him that he didn't request to ask that type of question.

The station aired the interview and the scolding with the intention of embarrassing their father. It backfired as many including myself that that the reporter was out of line and rude in trying to emit a response from two young girls.

As it is in the news and entertainment business in many cases some reporters are required to submit the questions to be approved for the interview. In this case it was a father protecting his children from having a reporter trying to embarrass or make a fool out of them. That is one interview that I never forgot and it aired about 5-6 years before I became a sports journalist. I then deemed the Williams' as WE ARE FAMILY from the famous song recorded by the group Sisters Sledge.

Other sports stories to make the charts were WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH (Martin) O'NEILL? That question came about when he departed Aston Villa without an explanation. Cambodia's football program notched another spot in our story Cambodia Olympic Committee Denies National Team SEA Games. Another Sea Games story emerged with SEA Games $#!T Hits The Fan.

The Southeast Asian flavor ruled again with our report RONALDINHO AVOIDS THAKSIN TO SIGN WITH AC MILAN. That was back in the day when the former Thailand Prime Minister was the owner of Manchester City in the English Premiere League. A sidebar to that is Shinawatra tried to purchase Liverpool prior to purchasing the Man City franchise.

Two more Cambodian stories made the charts regarding inequities as CAMBODIA'S PEDO HEAVEN - The child sex trade documentary RED LIGHT notched 4th place in the ratings and SOMETHING IS FISHY & Cambodia Isn't Denmark. We'll leave you with a cliffhanger on that and you can read the story too find out what was fishy.

The only entertainment story to chart was from 2007 when PARIS HILTON meets LARRY KING. King is basically retired but he had the time to interview the often jailed Hilton Hotel heiress before he rode off into the sunset.

SECTIONS MOST VISITED

There was a shakeup in the sections most visited with our BIZ WHO IS section taking the top position. Being number one in the past isn't the driving force that qualifies this ranking. The overall interest in the section over the years since its inception in 2007 enables it to attain the first spot.

Our reports on 19 Entertainment the American Idol partner and our report on Neil Portnow the president of NARAS who produce the Grammy Award show attracted the most interest. When the section was created CNN founder Ted turner and former CNN talk show host Larry King were the leaders in this category.

New additions include the Freshie Boy and Girl contest section from 2008 the last season that we covered the event due to our findings that the show was fixed as the votes weren't properly accounted for. That section with photos rocked up the charts to take the number 2 slot. Cambodia Sports and Soccer returned to the rankings. The new kid on the block was our NBA 2007 section.

Dennis Rodman is the most visited category within a category. That section came about due to the number of stories that we wrote about the Rod-Man aka Dennis The Menace supported by his ability to resurface in the news. His most recent escapade was he has been found in contempt of court and ordered to pay $500,000 in back child support to his ex-wife. When a particular topic surfaces and results in five or more stories it in nominated for having its own section. Rodman passed the test.

ARCHIVES

Two vintage stories appeared on the all time charts. The top spot is a feature on who we deem the godfather of soccer in America Alan Rothenberg. He was the pioneer in bringing the sport to the USA and promoting female competition in the Olympics. What is little, known is Rothenberg was a in the house fan of the Los Angeles Clippers when it wasn't cool to do so. Rothenberg toughed it out during their losing ways seasons in his courtside seat which is deserving of a purple heart.

The second story was our feature on Manchester United's visit to Thailand with David Beckham in 2001 to play the Thai national team in a friendly. United narrowly escaped with a 2-1 victory.

TOP 5 PRESS RELEASES

The NBA Rookie of the Month featuring the Charlotte Bobcats' Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and the Portland Trail Blazers' Damian Lillard notched the top spot. . Overall the NBA took three of the Top 5 spots.

The second position was notched by the rock band Circle of Fate releasing their Highly Anticipated New Single. The third slot was notched by Cartoon Network Celebrates 20th Anniversary. The fourth spot was taken by another NBA release MIAMI'S LEBRON JAMES WINS MOST VALUABLE PLAYER AWARD. The fifth spot was a report on the corrupt Cambodian judicial system titled Cambodia's Kafkaesque Court System.
