NR NR TOP 10 JULY - IS RONALDO THE ROCKET MAN?

Within a 24 hour period our Sports Notes July column rocketed to the top position on our NR Top 10 ratings for July. The story was posted July 9th and we took our sample the following day. This is the fastest rising story ever in our National Radio history. The subjects were Cristiano Ronaldo, Filipe Scolari and Ronaldinho which begged the questions regarding their decision making and choices for their careers.

Our Video Beat column is growing in popularity evidenced in its taking four of the Top 10 spots. Sports Notes regained its strength also taking four spots. Our Phnom Penh column took the two remaining positions.

This month we are taking a ratings period from February 2006 through July 9 2008. The reason being that in February 2006 we had to make a major overhaul in our system that required reassigning pages. In doing so much of the previous material was lost from our subject pages.

A case in point we had to retrieve a column from within that period Video Beat Extra August 2006 which jumped up to the second spot to the Top 10 this month. The is a column which features Top Model, The Contender and the Pinoy Dream Academy. The column also takes a focus on learning from TV and film. In part some people learn English from watching English language television and others are influenced by Western culture.

Another fast mover was our Phnom Penh column published June 29th which raced up the charts to the number three position. The focus is on the efforts of the Cambodia Daily publisher Bernard Krisher's efforts to help the poor people of Cambodia. The column also notes what type of television is available to the Cambodian TV viewer. We pointed out the documentary by the titled 'BBC uncovers lost Iraq billions,' a documentary that doc demonstrated the inequities of the war in Iraq and how private and government officials are profiteering from the war and ripping off the American taxpayer.

The point of the doc is that the war is about oil. The exploits of a private company Custer Battle was most notably featured in the television special. The point being that the information is available for the Cambodian TV viewer if they are interested in learning about what is going on in the world. The column also notes the electric problems in the city of Phnom Penh and lists the Top Phnom Penh stories that we've published.

Our Sports Notes column from March 2006 is a newcomer to the list and took the number five position. It covers the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers winning ways, MLB's (Major League Baseball) Kirby Puckett passing away, the Cambodian Premiere Football League restart and Cambodian Prince Ranariddh's Khemera Squad defending their Premiere League Championship. Former Cambodia National Team Coach Joachim Fickert returned to Coach Premiere League side NAGA, ESPN Sports Analyst Scott O'Donell taking a new position In Cambodian football.

Sports Notes July 2006 featuring what was happening with the failing Brazilian national team returned to the list at the number six spot.

American Idol contestant pretty boy Sanjaya Malakar caught the readers eyes in our Video Beat April 2007 edition and it took the seventh spot on the NR Top 10. We noted that Malakar was receiving a lot of media criticism saying that he shouldn't be on the show and that he has no talent. We also noted that Malakar has a good enough voice to make a record. His strength is his good looks and sweet personality. That sells. As all of the AI judge's pointed out to the 17-year-old was he not letting his talent go (release). He seems to be a bit reticent about getting down into the heart of a song and just gets by with singing it sweetly. It comes down to he's thinking too much and feeling too little.

Video Beat MAX May 2008 featuring Larry King taking on the American Idols returned to the list taking the ninth position. Video Beat EXTRA March 2007 featuring the controversial Antonella Barba being eliminated from the contest returned and took the final spot. In doing so that reader interest gave American Idol a triple presence on our NR Top 10 list.

Our feature on Manchester United published in 2001 replaced (Michael) Jordan Rules as the oldest story to make our listings for the month published July 30, 2001. The story notes life wasn't easy for the Red Devils and pointed out: The gritty little Thai's fought Man U's millionaire super stars to the tooth and nail. You want millionaire super stars? Try this out…David Beckham, Fabien Barthez, Ryan Giggs, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, and Juan Sebastian Veron, Dwight Yorke, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Andy Cole, Quinton Fortune, Raimond Van der Gouw, Dennis Irwin, Phillip Neville, Ole Gunner Solskjaer, Gary Neville, Ronny Johnson, Wes Brown, Mikael Silvestre and Luke Chadwick. Man U was ready. They came with everything and everybody but the kitchen sink and Beckham's famous wife Posh Spice. It was awesome.

Till next month PEACE

TOP SECTIONS VISITED

The ratings remained the same at the top of the sections most visited list for the top three positions. The Freshie Girls and Boys contest has dropped off the list partly due to our disconnecting the links to the page. That decision was made following some questionable practices that we've recognized in the event for which we sill publish a full story in a future issue The Bloom Fell Off The Rose.

That section was replaced by the NBA (National Basketball Association) which leaped six spots from the 10th position. We increased our coverage on the league in large part due to the NBA playoffs and NBA award announcements of the players honored during the past two months.

Our NR (National Radio) Top 10 section rocketed from nowhere to make the list for the first time by locking down the seventh position. The remainder of the list remained the same as our June ratings.

The Top 10 most visited sections are:

1 . Cambodian Sports

National Radio is published in five languages, English, Thai, French, Russian and Khmer (Cambodian language). Any of our foreign language material and our Roman Wanderaugh columns are legally available ONLY on our National Radio site.

INTERNET THEFT?

In researching the findings we have found that search engines Yahoo, Google and MSN are all guilty of misleading the public. They have linked our story information to other sites without our permission. Those sites include Thai Visa, Washington University in the USA and UNESCO.

We have tried to contact Yahoo regarding this matter but there was no response. For our story on Digital Divide Data titled Bridging The Digital Gap Yahoo linked our information to UNESCO and Washington University web sites as noted below.

Cambodia (PDF) 13 James Loving, "DDD - Bridging the Digital Gap of Have and Have. Notes," (by James Loving, National Radio Text Service, 8 April 8, ... www.unescobkk.org/fileadmin/user_upload/ict/Metasurvey/CAMBODIA.PDF - 117k - View as html

The questions are:

1. Why would a company that is valued at billions of dollars employ dishonest practices?

2. Who is responsible for manipulating information that is misleading to the public?

3. Who is responsible at UNESCO in permitting the practice?

Yahoo used the same story to mislead the public to the Washington University (USA) web site as noted below:

Cambodia (PDF) 13 James Loving, "DDD - Bridging the Digital Gap of Have and Have. Notes," (by James Loving, National Radio Text Service, 8 April 8, ... www.com.washington.edu/ict4d/upload/2004052712430458_03760155.pdf - 117k - View as html WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY

Our Roman Wanderaugh columns have been linked to other web sites by all three search engines without our permission. The most flagrant violator is Thai Visa. We have contacted them in the past but they have ignored our request to take our stories off their site.

All three of the mentioned search engines have used our story information and linked it to Thai Visa without our permission. Thai Visa actually stole our story and posted it on their site. In the past they not only stole our Cambodia By Land & Sea story but also used our photo. Since that time the photo is not on our story on their site.

Google provides advertising for the site. The question is why would a company that is worth billions of dollars resort to supporting a web site that steals?

The information of our information page on the Google site also had the following endorsing going to the Thai Visa site. ©2007 Google - Google Home - Advertising Programs - Business Solutions - About Google FRONT PAGE WITH THAI VISA

MSN did the same. They listed incorrect information and linked our work to Thai Visa as noted below:

Thaivisa.com The latest updated Thai visa immigration news; work permit and residence permit in ... Friday, 15 December 2006 Cambodia visa trip "TRAVELING AROUND" by Roman Wanderaugh o www.thaivisa.com/344.0.html o ¡¤ 7/14/2007 o ¡¤ Cached page

Cambodia visa trip "TRAVELING AROUND" by Roman Wanderaugh "AN INEXPENSIVE TRIP from BANGKOK to CAMBODIA by LAND & SEA" If you're an adventurous traveler the trip to Phnom Penh, Cambodia from ... o www.thaivisa.com/border-run/page_2.html o ¡¤ Cached page o +Show more results from www.thaivisa.com

MSN also listed the headline TRAVELING AROUND on the Cambodia Land & Sea story. It raises the question why was it necessary to make two listings on the same story to link to the Thai Visa site?

Roman Wanderaugh and any other National Radio columns are only legally available on the Internet on National Radio. We DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION for any other web site to use our material including soliciting our photos to the public.

We negotiate directly with interested parties for use. We are published in print in five languages. We do not approve of Thai Visa using our material and all of the search engines misleading the public to other web sites using National Radio information.

Isn't a search engines job to lead the public to the information they seek? It is clearly stated on our National Radio web site:

© Copyright: National Radio. Any use of these materials, whole or in part, is prohibited unless authorized in writing by National Radio. Contact: nationalradio@yahoo.com All rights reserved.

The questions are:

1. Where is the integrity of these companies?

2. Why should people do business with web sites that employ illegal practices?

3. If search engine companies render misinformation regarding linking the public to web sites they aren't searching for while stealing the traffic from the site the public intends to reach does that reflect on the accuracy of the value of their business that could inflate the value of their stock?

4. Is there an ENRON in the house?

We believe that a search engine should take the public to the web sites they are trying to find and not misdirect them. FULL STORY NEXT MONTH.

NATIONAL RADIO TOP 10 - JULY 2008

Sports Notes - FOOTBALL'S MERRY GO ROUND & MUSICAL CHAIRS - JULY, 2008
The Cristiano Ronaldo saga goes on and on and on - Yes Ronaldo was very talented player when he joined Man U but it was Sir Alex Ferguson who refined his raw skills and honed them into his being one of the greatest players in the world. If it's respect and appreciation you're looking for at this point IT IS ABSENT - With his Brazilian roots and being an integral member of the Scolari managed 2002 World Cup winning team you would think that Ronaldinho would be highly sought after by his former Brazilian national team manager Luiz Felipe Scolari' to join him at Chelsea. ESPN Sports reports have noted that Ronaldinho has said, "Come and get me," yet Scolari has made no attempt to do so

His six point output was only the second time that Jordan was held under double figures (10 points) in his now 14-year NBA playing career. Since his return to the NBA after a voluntary three year retirement the sports media have been questioning his abilities and if he were capable of competing with the new generation of NBA players.
