With half of the season over only six American Idol contestants remain. Though they have established relationships as friends the real deal of competition kicks in and the real show business test begins. Who has the strength and talent to survive is the question. The other concern is can this contest be a hoax and fixed as Phillip Phillips had NO NATURAL VOICE as has yet to prove he's worthy of all of the praise he's been given and has never been voted into the bottom 3. Does the shows creator Simon Fuller like this boy that much? - Recommended TV Listings

ONLY THE STRONG CAN SURVIVE!

It's down to the down and dirty time on American Idol as only the Top 6 remain to battle it out for the Season 11 title. When the competition began we rated the contestants that we believed had the best voices. We made a point of noting that as the contest progresses some contestants fail due to nerves or becoming overconfident and lose their focus.

We broke the selections into three categories Top 4, Middle 4 and bottom 5. Since that time we have made some changes while rating only the remaining six competitors.

Jessica Sanchez remains our top choice as she by far had the best voice. Sanchez was the recipient of the save when she had the least votes at the 7th position after previously never had been voted in the bottom three. The real deal is this… as judge Randy Jackson said she has one of the BEST VOICES IN AMERICA.

Skyler Laine is our second choice as she is the second most improved during the competition. She is gaining confidence and her voice has strengthened as a result as she is projecting more. She making good song choices and impressing in house mentor Jimmy Iovine with her selections of songs that he's not so familiar with. She impressed him with her performance at rehearsals and on the performance show. She has the country music fans vote going for her and country and rock have been the most consistent winners over the years.

Joshua Ledet is the most improved and we rank him third. Honestly at the beginning we weren't impressed with him at all and wondered why he made the Top 25. In the first few shows he sang with a growl and to us sounded bad. He then settled down and sang in his natural voice and impressed us. His voice is gaining strength but his weakness is he's not confident. Confidence is one of Skyler Laine's strengths. Ledet has the talent to win the competition but he does not own his identity which apparently he's not sure of.

Hollie Cavanagh is our fourth choice. Previously we chose her above Laine but Hollie has struggled with her confidence and thinks too much and is not feeling the songs she sings. She's thinking what she sings and losing her strength in feeling and being absorbed into the material.

Elise Testone is our 5th choice. She's a bar band singer and there a thousands of voices like hers. Her talent is not special and given her lack of a special sounding voice she has gone a long way. Her strength is her commitment to effort and warding off negative criticisms, she's mentally tough. Of the remaining six she has been in the bottom three five of seven times including being saved once in the Top 13.

Phillip Phillips is a major mystery. How he made it to the Top 25 amazes us. We all know that Jennifer Lopez has made it clear that she's hot for his body and she likes young pretty boys. His talent is lacking and far below all other competitors ever in the competition. He growls when he sings and has yet to show his natural voice. Phillips is tough as he toughed it out and performed within hours of having a kidney stone operation. That is the type of dedication it takes to make it in the entertainment business.

He's been receiving rave reviews about being a great guitar player and HE'S NOT. He's a chord player and strummer who can accompany his voice. He can't play well enough to play most any song with good musicians; he's a THREE CHORD PLAYER. This overrated false praise raises the questions… WHY ALL THE BULLSHIT? WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?

Last week Iovine said he would be in the finals. Obviously he knows something that the public doesn't know since they haven't had a chance to vote on the matter. This raises a red flag and indicates a FIX IS IN for Phillips to win or come in second. Why they like him so much raises questions about their decision making or the lack of the integrity of the program. The other red flag is that he is the only contestant never to have been voted into the bottom 3. It raises questions if the votes are really from the public or a behind the scenes decision.

One thing jumped out a few weeks ago giving us the feeling that the judges know who is to be eliminated beforehand. After host Ryan Seacrest asked if they would use the save judge Steven Tyler said shortly after the results show began in which it was later revealed that Jessica Sanchez received the least amount of votes the rock star commented that with a result like this yes we're going to use the save tonight. The other two in the bottom 3 were Elise Testone and Joshua Ledet. Testone would be a definite NO SAVE while Ledet would be a possibility. With Sanchez being on the line she is the only contestant that we would save and Ledet would be gone at that point. Now that the save is used up its balls to the wall time.
