Based on last nights showings both series pack some punch and will provide very interesting viewing for the upcoming months. The Amazing Race brings former enemies together with one of the most evil couples ever to appear on the show. IT'S BLOCKBUSTER TIME ON AXN

Apparently the AXN Channel is putting all of its cards on the table with back to back premieres of the new AMAZING RACE series that rocks past race ALL-STARS. This show preceded the premieres of THE VOICE last night Sunday, March 02, 2014 in the East Asian region. It is advertised that the premiere of the NEW AMAZING RACE series will air every Monday evening at 8:05 PM (adjusted by region). The question is why was the show televised last night on a Sunday?

Amazing Race 24 brings back some of the most notorious contestants who would rankle anyone with their over the top selfish behavior. The liked and respected pair from the renowned Harlem Globetrotters team returns to add some humor and professional competitiveness to the series. A mother and her deaf son return adding a human interest aspect to the show.

A strange arrangement is the pairing of the Kentucky team which pairs a competitor from two different teams on previous shows from that state. A white former beauty pageant winner who in a previous series competed with her father has now teamed up with the black competitor from another Kentucky team.

Mark Jackson, 5th place in Season 20 and Mallory Ervin, 3rd place in Season 18 (6th place in her original appearance in Season 17). Jackson originally planned to compete with his Season 20 teammate William "Bopper" Minton. However, the night before the start of the race by the production's medical team. To replace him, Ervin was invited to compete as Jackson's teammate. On air, the new team was dubbed "Team Kentucky" in reference to Jackson and Ervin's home state.

This arrangement adds to the chemistry of the show to see how they go along to get along during the competition. Most certainly it is a good example of how people can work together to get along to achieve and work towards harmony in today's much troubled world.

The cut throat Sri Lankan sisters Natalie and Nadiya Anderson, twin sisters who live in New York that finished in 4th place in Season 21 are included in this lineup. They continue to argue and cause controversy. Check out the first episode as they will be the first to be eliminated. Repeats of the show are aired throughout the week.

Jet and Cord McCoy, brothers and rodeo cowboys, 6th place (2nd place in their original appearance in Season 16) who also repeated in the Season 18 all-star series titled "Unfinished Business"

The most interesting returnees are the couple Jessica Hoel and John Erck that in one Season 22 had an Express Pass but failed to use it. Throughout the serried the tried to curry favor (ass kissing) from the other contests for them to receive Extra Pass. They gave it to Dave and Connor O'Leary, father and son team that finished in 8th place. It was no favor as John figured they couldn't win since the father who is a cancer survivor injured his Achilles in a preceding leg and was hobbling around. The father and son used their pass and continued on to the pit stop and resigned under a doctor's recommendation to return to the states for an operation.

The devil had its due since John was too stubborn to use his pass, while ignoring his girlfriend's request, feeling that he was smart enough to figure out the final task before the pit stop. As host Phil Keoghan said, as he rolled his eyes, by his recollection they were the first team that failed to use the pass in the shows history. It will be interesting to see if the evil team changes their ways and become a team worthy of liking. Stay tuned...

* Composite Team: o Mark Jackson, 5th place in Season 20 and Mallory Ervin, 3rd place in Season 18 (6th place in her original appearance in Season 17). Jackson originally planned to compete with his Season 20 teammate William "Bopper" Minton. To replace him, Ervin was invited to compete as Jackson's teammate. On air, the new team was dubbed "Team Kentucky" in reference to Jackson and Ervin's home state.

THE VOICE ROCKS HOT TALENT

Now commencing season 6 THE VOICE continues to raise the bar with the quality of their talent pool. If last night's premier is any indication, the talent this season is the best the series has had overall.

The chemistry between the judges is warmer with the return of Shakira and Usher. Both are over their first season jitters trying to fit in with judges Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. Both are more relaxed and their true personalities are emerging making for the most fun judging team the show has ever had.

Cee Lo Green is not expected to return as a judge on future VOICE seasons. The word has it that he intends to focus on his career and his own TV series in the planning stages. Shakira has stepped up her hotness and looks fresh and great. This will be an interesting season for THE VOICE…. Perhaps it BEST EVER. Watch out for 16-year-old sensation Madilyn Paige, Christina Grimmie and 17-year-old Bria Kelly.
