THE FINAL THREE BE...

There's no doubt about it that the winner of this seasons American Idol title will be male since the last female in the group Allison Iraheta was eliminated last week. The result being that the final three are Adam Lambert the hot choice to win, Danny Gokey who escaped being in the bottom three throughout the competition though was last to Iraheta when she was eliminated and Kris Allen who is this season's Blake Lewis the season six runner-up who topped better singers in Melinda Doolittle and Lakisha Jones. He's our GO FIGURE GUY in this season's competition.

With no disrespect intended Allen has survived this season by beating out singers that have much better voices most notably Iraheta, Jorge Nunez who was knocked out early and Anoop Desai.

This past week feature news show host Anderson Cooper was a guest on the Tonight show with Jay Leno. Leno held up a picture of the then final four contestants Lambert, Iraheta, Gokey and Allen. Cooper had less to say about Allen then he did Lambert who he thought would win followed by Iraheta who he liked and felt that Gokey would be eliminated. Well that didn't happen.

After Iraheta's elimination she was a guest on the Tonight Show and told Leno how thrilled she was perform on the AI show with former Guns & Roses guitarist Slash. Though she was voted off the show (as they say) Iraheta is a talented vocalist and should have a successful career. This summers Idol tour will give her the experience she needs to make the next big step to stardom.

NOTE:

Leno said on his show that this may be Simon Cowell's last season as an American Idol judge. Let's hope he's right about that as we won't miss the acrid one.

THE FINAL THREE

Adam Lambert

Throughout the season the most shocking episode thus far was last week when the most praised contestant Adam Lambert was shockingly selected to be in the bottom three for the first time.

The 27-year-old Lambert has the most experience of the group having performed on the theatrical stage since he was a child. Lambert has the most flexible strong voice among the four. He has continually caught the eye of the AI judges with his original renditions of songs by imprinting his own style on a song.

Last seasons winner David Cook was the best at doing so but Cook always sounded like Cook. Lambert's renditions sound like several artists but all in a weird way his own. The question is should Lambert win the contest what style will he pursue?

Adam Lambert, 27 (born January 29, 1982) from Hollywood, California - a stage actor who auditioned in San Francisco, California. Before auditioning for American Idol, he was in the touring and Los Angeles casts of Wicked. His renditions of "Some Kind of Wonderful" and "Believe" made him a judge favorite. "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" (The Rolling Stones)

Danny Gokey

Danny Gokey is the elder of the group who turned 29 April 24th. The Wisconsin native has a strong soulful voice and is the only contestant who has never been selected for the bottom three. Gokey's background as a music director of a church choir gives him a stable mature presence on the show.

His wife passed with a heart disease four weeks prior to his American Idol audition. She urged him to continue. That experience and his talent have given him a unique presence on the program. His voice is worthy of the title and his image is wholesome which is rare in the music business.

Danny Gokey, 29 (born April 24, 1980) from Milwaukee, Wisconsin - a praise and worship music director who auditioned in Kansas City, Missouri along with best friend Jamar Rogers. Both made it to the Hollywood rounds, but Rogers was eliminated at week's end. Four weeks before the audition, Gokey's wife, Sophia, diagnosed with a congenital heart disease, passed away. His wife had motivated him to try out before she died. He is a judge favorite. "Hero" (Mariah Carey)

Kris Allen

Of all of the contestants Allen has been a dark horse. Throughout the competition he has slipped under the radar. Last week was the first week that he was in trouble to be eliminated but of the three he surprisingly received more votes than favorite Adam Lambert and was the first saved. Allen's voice is pleasant but not a blockbuster. He has a nice personality but… we wouldn't be surprised that this will be his last week and he won't make the final three. Should he survive it will be the most shocking result since Blake Lewis won out over Melinda Doolittle in season six.

Kris Allen, 23 (born June 21, 1985) from Conway, Arkansas - a college student who auditioned in Louisville, Kentucky. He's best known for his group performance of "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5 during Hollywood week with a group called White Chocolate. "Man in the Mirror" (Michael Jackson)
