Jeremy Lin was the NBA's greatest story this season. The Taiwanese/Chinese American brought pride to Asian nations with his stellar play creating Linsanity. Linsanity is over as a knee injury ends his season. His story ranks # 3 on our NEW NR Top 10 - nikk_la photo

A red flag jumped up in this months NR Top 10 ratings with CNN being the star - What CNN hasn't done is cover the biggest pedophile case in Cambodia's history of Russian Alexander Triofimov who was convicted of having sex with 17 underage children reported to by as young as 6 to 10 years old. The government failed to honor Interpol's request to extradite the criminal to Russia to stand trial for more charges of sex with children 10-12 years old. Obviously CNN does not want to cover such a story of this magnitude and disrupt their flow of the Cambodian Tourism Ministry advertising dollars

CAMBODIA'S PEDOPHILE PROTECTION & ABUSE OF HUMAN RIGHTS TAKES THE TOP SPOT

There were several changes at the top of our NR TOP 10 ratings this month. The top choices were spread almost evenly between out three top categories, Sports, entertainment and travel.

Our Phnom Penh Travel Tips column took top honors in notching four of the Top 10 positions. It also ranked as our fastest rise as the June Phnom Penh Extra column leaped into the number one position. That column focused on the Cambodian government defying Interpol's request to extradite Russian pedophile Alexander Trofimov aka Stanislav Molodyakov.

The government decided to side step the issue and expel him from the country with a ticket to South Korea. Since that time it has been reported that he is now in Russia to face charges of raping three children between the ages of 10-12.

That column also brought attention to the documentary The Trap of Saving Cambodia which depicted the Cambodian government as being an International gang and likened them to the Mafia. It noted that those running the government have been in charge for three decades and many are former members of the Khmer Rouge. The doc also focused on the money being donated to the attention and wasted in trying to save it with the result being it only buys more corruption not results on the improvement of human rights.

The Phnom Penh columns took four of the Top 10 spots while our sports and television coverage (Video Beat) registered three each. This month the American Idol fever has subsided since last month when our American Idol reviews took 9 of our NR Top 10 spots. This month they Idol notched landed only places with some new twists of Idol stories entering the fray that were not listed on our NR Top 10 ratings last month.

The most interesting change was the inclusion of our story on the elimination of Erika Van Pelt from the show. The piece also touched on the Chinese American contestant Heejun Han. More interestingly we disclosed our view on who is taking the time to vote for contestants on the show. From our research we assessed them as being a young Coca Cola drinking generation that has little to do with their time but send text messages. Their comments on the web regarding the Idol indicate that they are immature and don't have a clue what talent really is. That column took the 6th position. The elimination of Colton Dixon was also new and charted at the 7th position.

In that piece we pointed out the obvious favoritism given to eventual winner Phillip Phillips. The article also voices our opinion of Christina Aguilera who has a higher opinion of herself than Jennifer Lopez.

The most significant section of the column is pointing out the hypocrisy of CNN's Freedom Project to stop Human Trafficking. The irony is that as much as they depict themselves as being trailblazers with their noble cause they are guilty of looking the other way when it comes to reporting on real stories which appears to be buried ad swept under the rug due to their conflict of them making advertising money from Cambodia's tourism campaign. They sent one of their reporters to speak in Cambodia at the ASEAN Tourism Forum.

Several years ago they have sent their fair haired boy Anderson Cooper to report on the child sex problem as he bravely stood on the unused railroad tracks in the Toul Kok section of Phnom Penh. They ran a report with their brace Rhinestone Rambo (our description) who had a Dick Tracy video watch that he took undercover photos of brothels and the sex trade. When he went to a bust via police support the operation was vacant unlike the previous day. WOW!!! WE WONDER WHY? HOW STUPID. The so called undercover investigative journalist was so scared he appeared to have soiled his pants who couldn't escape the country quickly enough.

What CNN hasn't done is cover the biggest pedophile case in Cambodia's history of Russian Alexander Triofimov who was convicted of having sex with 17 underage children reported to by as young as 6 to 10 years old. The government failed to honor Interpol's r request to extradite the criminal to Russia to stand trial for more charges of sex with children 10-12 years old. Obviously CNN does not want to cover such a story of this magnitude and disrupt their flow of the Cambodian Tourism Ministry advertising dollars.

As a result of CNN's inferior news coverage and news features the network has suffered its lowest ratings in 21 years. It was also reported that there will be a change at the top of command of the International division. This is a change that is long overdue.

The most noteworthy American Idol story that made this months charts at the 10th position is the deplorable treatment the executives gave contestant Jermaine Jones when they exploited him on International television when they dismissed him from the show for having outstanding warrants for traffic violations and giving the police a fictitious name to avoid being detected for having outstanding warrants.

In the past the show had a contestant that had a criminal history for THEFT and was permitted to participate on the show. Do the logic… how many of you have had traffic tickets? How many of you have been convicted for THEFT?

In the past when contestants were dismissed it was done in PRIVATE OFF CAMERA. They chose to exploit Jones in what is believed to be a futile attempt to boost sagging ratings. Jones explained that he didn't reveal his problem to Idol because he didn't have the money to pay for the tickets and hopped to do so when he had the cash. He also explained that he told Idol about his history and had to hire a lawyer to comply with their requirements and after he did so nothing came of it until they exposed him on live TV. Phew!!!

Sports made a strong return taking three positions. The misadventure of Philippine boxing great Manny Pacquiao took the 2nd spot. We attributed his less than standard performance in his last six fights to his own neglect and responsibility to his body and title. His life was more about wine, women, song and gambling than boxing.

International football made s strong show taking the 8th spot. That column covers Pep Guardiola, Alex Ferguson and the bottom of the spectrum the poor state of the Cambodian football program.

Chinese/American NBA basketball player Jeremy Lin returned to the charts at the 5th position. Our opinion is that Lin is the best thing that happened to NBA basketball this season. His feats eclipsed the Miami Heat winning their first NBA title with their Big 3. They inspired nobody while Lin's rags to riches story rocked and inspired millions around the world.

Our Phnom Penh columns took three positions. Sad to say the news is not good topped by the favoritism of the Russian pedophile Alexander Trofimov and the governments stonewalling Interpol's request to extradite him to Russia for more sex charges with children. The Kingdom of Wonder is earning the title of the Kingdom of pedophiles.

SECTIONS MOST VISITED

This month there were only three changes in the sections most visited while seven sections have shifted positions. The Freshie Girls & Boys returned to the # 1 spot after a month off with American Idol holding that position.

Returning to the charts are the NBA, Television Reviews and the Travel sections. Our coverage during the NBA playoffs was the driving force behind its rise in the charts. The Travel section has changed during this past year to include travel and lodging opportunities around the world. China and hotels in the Asian region have been the most consistent contributors.

ARCHIVES

From our Archive choices one is fairly new the other from 2001. The most recent is our account of our trip last July on China's fast train which at the time of our journey was in service for only a week. We experienced a four hour delay and late arrival on a trip from Beijing to Nanjing. It was a scheduled to be four hour trip that turned into an eight hour nightmare. That's the GOOD NEWS.

THE BAD NEWS is roughly two weeks later we took the bullet train from Shanghai to Nanjing a day after trains on the Chinese system collided head on and fell off a bridge causing a death toll to 40, with 191 others injured. Luckily the following day we traveled on a different day on a different route from Shanghai to Nanjing. The relevance being that all of the new Chinese high speed train systems were suspect of neglect and corruption in being built and put into service without being properly tested. The route from Nanjing to Beijing and train that we twice traveled on was the newest and the least tested.

Bad weather and rain were given as some of the causes for the failure of detection systems that were designed to alert danger ahead of trains stopped and in the way. The detection systems failed causing the collisions.

Other than those problems mentioned there were investigations regarding corruption and contracts issued by officials and companies contracted to build the equipment for greed and personal financial gain without considering the quality of service and fulfilling the responsibilities of their jobs.

Several executives were relived of their jobs. The old story that surfaced on our charts is one that we totally forgot about. In 2001 the NBA released a press release relating to the leagues oldest ad youngest players. We took it a step further and added out take on the subject.

Looking back on that list of the 15 youngest players at that time listed 10 remain in the league. For a trivia test name the players on the list that currently are playing in the league. For a tip we will supply two names that were eligible but surprisingly were NOT on the list... Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett. Now it's up to you to name the rest and take a look at the story to check for the answers.

Of the 16 oldest players at that time two remain in the league. One is a head coach and the other an assistant. Who are they? Think about it and check the list.
