HAS AMERICAN IDOL'S BIASED JUDGMENT A NEGATIVE INFLUENCE TO VOTING?

During the performance show after listening to the judge's negative comments it was all too obvious that Hollie Cavanagh was the contestant selected by the shows powers that be to be sacrificed and eliminated from the competition. Though Cavanagh sang well they picked her apart for not feeling the songs of Bonnie Raitt's, "I Can't Make You Love Me." They accused her of being incapable of interpreting the lyrics due to her youth and lack of life experience. The judges went overboard with the negative critiques in what appeared to be a set-up to influence the outcome of the voting or the set-up to be eliminated by the behind the scenes powers that be who script the program for the results THEY WANT.

Cavanagh's performances were much stronger than that of the powers that be GOLDEN BOY (no voice) Phillip Phillips. It continues to be apparent set-up for Phillips to win the competition. Their Georgia Peach has one quarter the vocal range of Cavanagh and the quality of his vocals is inferior to hers. Despite the obvious vocal glitches the judges continue to PROMOTE and MAKE EXCUSES for Phillips of why he makes mistakes and his voice is not up to par. It has been the scenario from the beginning of the Top 13.

The emphasis of making excuses and giving praise for poor performances and a lack of a vocal range and a true natural voice give credence to our theory that the Idol crown will be his courtesy from the unknown powers that are running the show.

Phillips has a vocal range of about an octave and an half. Cavanagh sounds like she has a three octave range and a clear strong voice. The discrepancy of critique and the vast difference in the quality of talent continues to raise the red flags higher and higher that something is very wrong with this American Idol picture.

One incident that stands out is when Jennifer Lopez blurted out to Phillips after another of his POOR PERFORMANCES to have caution in choosing songs. She went on to say, "I WANT YOU TO WIN!"

In listening to the critiques of the American Idol judges this week for their final four performance show it became more obvious how biased they continue to be. The judges come off as a royal court in the manner in which they dispense their opinions. Jennifer Lopez is in love with everybody until they cross her.

Skylar Laine claims that she was ignored by Lopez backstage after she was eliminated last week in the Top 5. Usually those eliminated are comforted. During the performance show Lopez show praised Laine but obviously something unexplained happened as it has in the past.

It appears that a contestant is mentally bullied into shape to appreciate their presence or else. Colton Dixon sealed his own fate in his off stage interview after his performance when he stated that he didn't care about the negative critiques he had just received from the judges. Up to that point he and Phillips were the only two contestants who had never been selected for the bottom 3. The following day HE WAS ELIMINATED.

After being given his notice on the results show he looked the judges straight in the eye and said, "I've go it."

He was whipped into shape. It was as if he got the message to be thankful for what he was given in terms of praise and the green light to go through as opposed to what he earned from supposedly votes from the public (ahem). He appeared to be showing remorse from his comments about the judge's critiques. It appears to be the show's message to tow the line and play the game the way we want you to play.

The irony being that he earned his never having been in the bottom 3 groups from strong performances. He has a much better voice than Phillips and was the other pretty boy that Lopez enjoys so much. Perhaps the problems were he isn't as pretty to Lopez as Phillips and his openness in his statements lent to perceiving him to be too cocky and ungrateful.

This new Idol image personifies the days of the Romans and the gladiators when the gladiators fought for their lives in honor of the emperor and were killed in doing so or were challenged by being eaten by lions. In some way Idol elimination's somehow reflects witnessing a beheading by the Taliban. In this case the lions Taliban are the judges and the behind the scenes American Idol powers that be.

In our previous column we noted that there has never been and never will be two minorities in the final two for the title as it is bad for business in attaining a large viewership and ratings. If Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston were in an American Idol final four one of them would be eliminated before the finals. That's how racist this Idol season appears therefore we agree with Elton John on that point.

Another interesting sidebar came to light as host Ryan Seacrest revealed that he and Phillips both being from Georgia frequented the same eateries. Hummmm… something to think about.

With that said should this Phillips phenomena continues it will be a shame and disgrace that obviously the much more talented Jessica Sanchez or Joshua Ledet will be eliminated in favor of Phillips.

This season the show is more about the judges and less about the contestants. Lopez pimps off her products and events while making a $15 million salary from Idol. Jackson extols his worthiness by talking about how great he is and who he knows and his knowledge about the business. He talks too much about himself and has taken the Simon Cowell role of talking too much in his critiques many of which are pointless. He makes comments about how the contestants dress as he did Sanchez dressing too old for a 16-year-old. It was as if it was her fault when Idol has wardrobe personnel for that responsibility.

Jackson negatively critiqued a duet by Sanchez and Cavanagh by questioning why Sanchez sang all of the low parts and Cavanaugh the high. Excuse us... we weren't aware that the contestants had the responsibility of arranging the songs that aren't their single performance but songs which are done to fill out a two hour time period.

Where was this type of negative critique given to Phillips when he sang a duet with Ledet and due to Phillips LACK OF RANGE Ledet sang the high and low portions of the The Righteous Brothers "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'? This is another example of the judge's bias of Phillips and the dressing down of Cavanagh and Sanchez. Jackson comes off like a snake oil salesman, he's all sizzle and no steak.

"That was a little strange to me... honestly," he boldly commented after their performance of "Eternal Flame" by The Bangles. "For me I just didn't like that. It was weird, he added. Lopez jumped in to save the girls from the embarrassment saying it wasn't that bad and Jackson was back in for by stupidly noting, "Yea, but she (Sanchez) never went up (to sing high notes).

Jackson earlier said more negatives to Cavanagh after her Bonnie Raitt song, "Wrong song, wrong time."

At the end of the show when Seacrest asked who he liked he named everyone but Cavanagh. Steven Tyler is the most discrete regarding his activities and praise of himself while his critiques are brief and to the point. He is the most professional judge.

QUESTION - Is American Idol going through its BROTHEL phase?

AS WE PREDICTED

Hollie Cavanagh was eliminated and fell prey to the Phillip Phillips conspiracy. As Jennifer Lopez said with her critique of the British/American after singing the Raitt song on performance day, "I'm sorry baby."

The manner in which this Idol season has been contrived and its racist history it's a no brainer that either Sanchez or Ledet will be voted (?) off the show next week. That will set up a minority again the great white hope in the final which Phillips will win.

And the Phillips plot to be the winner goes on. Ohhh pleaseee. Stay tuned for our prophecy

NOTES:

What is good is their apparent 100 piece band. The number of musicians used is amazing and varies with each performance. They are primarily very young and talented. Their diverse placement of stage and occasional featuring of a musician is a plus for the show as it adds to the contestants performance giving them what appears to be support and a much better look than in the past when they stood alone and the band was out of sight off stage. This new look adds to the color of the show.

NEXT Part 2 - THE RESULTS

He originally auditioned for American Idol season 10, but he did not make it past the audition stage. He was dubbed "Mantasia" (as being the male version of American Idol season 3 winner Fantasia Barrino) during the semi-finals. He performed "Blue Suede Shoes with Shannon Magrane, Amber Holcomb, and Curtis Finch Jr. " His musical influences are Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Fantasia Barrino, James Brown, Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder and Elton John.

* Phillip Phillips (born September 20, 1990) is from Leesburg, Georgia. He attended Lee County High School. He graduated Albany Technical College, but had to miss the graduation ceremony due to being on American Idol. He auditioned in North Charleston, singing "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" with the guitar. He performed "I Only Have Eyes For You" with Heejun Han, Neco Starr, and Jairon Jackson. Many people have compared his vocal style to that of Dave Matthews, whom he has also noted as an influence. As of April 19, 2012, he is the only contestant this season to not have been in the Bottom 3 yet.

* Jessica Sanchez (born August 4, 1995 is a Filipino-Mexican-American from San Diego, California. She was born in Chula Vista, California. Her father Gilbert Sanchez is a Mexican-American U.S. Navy veteran and originally from Texas and fought in the War in Iraq. Her mother Editha Sanchez is Filipina and originally from Bataan province in the Philippines. Sanchez auditioned in San Diego. She performed "It Doesn't Matter Anymore" with DeAndre Brackensick and Candice Glover in Las Vegas. During the Sing For Your Life green mile round, Sanchez performed "The Prayer" by Andrea Boccelli. Before Idol, she was known for her appearance on the first season of America's Got Talent where she was brought back by judge Brandy during the show's wildcard round. Sanchez also participated in the YouTube edition of "We Are the World" along with 56 other YouTube artists, including American Idol season 10 finalist Thia Megia. She was saved from elimination by the judges after receiving the lowest number of votes in the top seven round, making her the first female contestant to be saved by the judges.
