AS WE PREDICTED THE FIX WAS IN FOR PHILLIPS TO WIN

The writing was on the wall that Phillip Phillips was receive an excessive amount of attention unlike that give to any American Idol contestant in the shows history. From the beginning of the season we became suspicious of the emphasis on promoting one contestant over all others. The praise and excuses for his poor performances and inability to sing the melody and hit the notes simply didn't make sense for those of us that didn't attend YOUR MOTHER RAISED A FOOL SCHOOL.

Believe it or not Idol's host Ryan Seacrest announced that a record 132 million votes were cast which deemed Phillips the winner of Season 11. It was a well panned apparent scripted season in which it was decided from the start that the powers that be (PTB) i.e. the shows producers, sponsors and the television network designated that Phillips should win the contest. The apparent reason being that he would bolster ratings with his southern down home small town persona. He would stimulate interest and votes from their target text crazy teen audience. The unbridled attention to Phillips was over the top.

It really came to light when judge Jennifer Lopez blurted out, "I WANT YOU TO WIN PHILLIP," after he sang poorly during a performance show. It was a shocking moment hear a SUPPOSEDLY UNBIASED JUDGE make such an OUTLANDISH statement before an International TV audience and DISRESPECTFUL to the other contestants as well as being UNPROFESSIONAL.

If Simon Cowell were on the judging panel Phillips would have been one of the first three eliminated if he had made it to the Top 13 finalists at all due to his PITCHY and limited vocal range VOICE. In the past he would have been massacred by Cowell as being PITCHY.

Now that the show is all about the judges promoting themselves and their products the credibility of good honest decision making has been thrown aside for pimping products and promoting their own careers. This season was a major blow to the credibility of the show.

Last season was an aberration when it truly had the best talent ever in the history of Idol. We predicted that the minorities in the Top 3 this season Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet would be SET UP TO FAIL and one would be eliminated to avoid having an unprecedented two minorities in the final given that it would hurt viewer ratings. That prediction came to fruition as Ledet was eliminated after being given a bad song from the shows in house mentor Jimmy Iovine that the audience couldn't relate to.

At the same time he maliciously selected what the judges deemed THE PERFECT SONG for Phillips who was the last to perform that night. After the judges negative critiques Iovine said he took full responsibility for making the mistake. The problem is that Iovine's detailed attention to the song he chose for Phillips at the right time and moment cost him a deserved place in the finals.

Iovine also made a bad song choice for Sanchez in the Top 3 in selecting for her a song by the Jacksons that was recorded with two separate singers. There is a low part in the song sung by Jermaine Jackson while the higher notes were sung by Michael. Iovine admitted that he didn't think about that when he made the choice. Judge Randy Jackson said that he would have preferred Sanchez to do the Mariah Carey version.

The problem with that is Iovine sent Jessica the Jacksons version. The assassination of Sanchez continued in the final as Iovine chose the WRONG SONG for Sanchez's voice which was her final performance of the night having sung three songs. The first song was chosen by the shows creator Simon Fuller and he made a good choice. The second song was Sanchez's choice. The third and final view and thoughts to the viewer was by Iovine. He chose a song that was TERRIBLE as we noted before the judges critiques. The judges reamed Sanchez and said, "When you record you have to be able to say to someone (hopefully not Iovine) this is not me." That was good advice from a judge that has been championing Phillips since he first auditioned.

Phillps was the last to perform due to his winning a coin toss. Again iovine picked the right song for his voice and there was no critique the judges gave him a standing ovation which was the last thing a viewer would remember prior to sending in votes. Sanchez was dismembered and Phillips was put together. It was a no brainer that Phillips would win as IT WAS SET UP THAT WAY.

In reality other than the set up of giving a contestant support by making good decisions and choosing the right songs the decision appears to have been made from the audition stage.

Following the finals performance show here In Asia Star World (a Fox Network Asian network) aired a special show that featured the seasons most memorable moments. Their # 1 choice was Phillips audition deemed the best audition of the season and the # 1 overall most memorable moment. On that segment Steven Tyler blurted out, "You're going to Hollywood," before Lopez and Jackson had a chance to vote. It was that scene that Phillips was designated as the chosen one to win the idol title AND HE DID.

IDOL'S WINNER

* Phillip Phillips (born September 20, 1990) is from Leesburg, Georgia. He attended Lee County High School. He graduated Albany Technical College, but had to miss the graduation ceremony due to being on American Idol. He auditioned in North Charleston, singing "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" with the guitar. He performed "I Only Have Eyes For You" with Heejun Han, Neco Starr, and Jairon Jackson. Many people have compared his vocal style to that of Dave Matthews, whom he has also noted as an influence. As of April 19, 2012, he is the only contestant this season to not have been in the Bottom 3 yet.
