WHO'S COUNTING?

Previously we stated after an American Idol performance show that the most outstanding performances came again from Pia Toscano as well as Jacob Lusk. Lauren Alaina and Scott McCreery were close behind both turning outstanding performances. At this point they are the front-runners to be in the final four.

Toscano is surprisingly out but Lusk, McCreery and Alaina remain in the competition. Since the time that Toscano was eliminated we lost interest in the program and have some concerns about its integrity. One result is we did not report or watch last weeks show in which Paul McDonald was eliminated. It was about time for appropriate eliminations to be in the order of vocal ability and not a popularity contest. McDonald's elimination doesn't compensate for the injustice to Toscano having been in the situation that she should be eliminated since the judges save was used up. That was due to the judge's enormous error in saving Casey Abrams in the 11th spot and we questioned their wisdom.

This week wild card survivor Stefano Langone was eliminated after being in the bottom 3 for the fourth time at the seventh position. Langone he did well to survive this long with his OK but not exceptional voice. The weird thing being that he has a better voice than Abrams.

We love Abrams talent and have previously stated that he has the most overall talent in the group. The problem is he's not a great singer and we were to believe that Idol was a singing contest. Abrams was saved based on POTENTIAL and not what he displayed in his vocal performances. The save was wasted and so was Toscano's super vocal talent for viewers that understand what vocal talent is all about.

Our opinion is not to rake Abrams over the coals. We have been a fan of his from the audition stages and were the first to recognize his versatility as a musician. He is a tremendous bass played which endeared him to judge Randy Jackson who also plays the instrument. Abrams also plays several other instruments well thereby enhancing his talent. The judges being entertainers themselves apparently are overwhelmed by his musicians' skills while forgetting that this is a SINGING CONTEST.

After canceling our viewing last week's program in which Paul McDonald McDonald was eliminated due to our lack of interest and Toscano's elimination we went news gathering and were surprised to learn that SHOW INSIDERS SAY that Jacob Lusk will not win. That sends up a RED FLAG that the show is FIXED as we've previously noted. We were under the impression that viewers were the deciders of who would be eliminated. Why would an insider have that type of information?

In this weeks performance Lusk had problems hearing the sound track in the earpiece the contestants have to keep them on time with the music track. This could be a behind the scenes sabotage. Lusk fought through the distraction and took the earpiece out of his ear and sand to the music as he heard it on stage. This put him at a disadvantage as when a performer is on stage there are dead spots where the performer can't hear the band and keep in time with the music. Lusk won that battle but was in the bottom three for the second time.

Another flaming red flag is the sacrificial slaughter of five females who were the first to be eliminated from the Top 13. The rationale is the teenage girls with crushes on some of the boys on the show stuffed the ballots box technology. What adult in their right mind would spend their time voting over and over again within a two hour time period?
