IT'S ON!!! THE BATTLE OF COUNTRY SINGERS

If it's exuberant youth and talent you're looking for it's on this week on American Idol's finale between the shows youngest ever finalists 16-year-old Lauren Alaina and 17-year-old Scott McCreery both of whom are high school students. It won't happen but the show could creatively open up with some old timers Donnie and Marie Osmond who were stars at a younger age singing "A whole lotta country and a little bit of rock n roll." Both were super stars at a younger age than the two contestants.

Alaina and McCreery will be serving up some strong country music material on performance night which will occur a day earlier on Tuesday on the USA and Wednesday in Asia due to the time differential.

This should be the best finale ever given the youth aspect of it and both have super unique voices and poise. Alaina's voice is distinctive, full and rich. She has a look of excitement in her eyes every time she sings a song. Her face lights up expressing the pleasure and enjoyment she has from performing. She's a cheerleader in high school and that exuberance carries over in her performances. She commands the stage. Alaina has been in the bottom 2 or 3 only once three weeks ago on the 5th of May.

Last week on the performance show Alaina showed where her strength is when she gave a strong rendition singing "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack. It was as good as it gets and was a strong as any hit record that has been recorded. Should she win she will become Idol's youngest winner ever eclipsing Jordin Sparks who was 17 in season 6.

McCreery's stood out from the beginning when he auditioned for the show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin strong low country voice. When judge Jennifer Lopez asked how old he was she was shocked when he replied 16 (at that time). During the Hollywood auditions we picked him as one of the three best voices on the show and had good chance of winning the whole thing. So far, so good for us. He is the only contestant that has never been in the bottom 2 or 3.

We noticed McCreery from the start and felt that he could win the title but Alaina emerged as a strong talent about half way through the competition. At that timewe said that she has the talent to win the competition as well.

These two are the closest in talent ever surpassing the competitive duo of David Cook and David Archuleta in season 7. Archuleta has a better quality voice but Cook had more stage presence and his age being 25 at the time his maturity surfaced in his performances. Since that time both have had successful careers. The same or more success is expected for Alaina and McCreery.

This is the only time that we have never had a favorite in the finals. Both are exceptional and well mannered with respectful warm personalities. Both possess the likeability factor. Both are so good American Idol should throw out the votes and make them both co-winners and split the title.

In the past country music talent have received strong support from the voters with Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood winning the title. This time will be a true test in the voting results as to who is the favorite singer and their music genre won't be a factor.

This will be a thrilling, super finale and is rated a MUST WATCH on the Star World Cable Network. The results naming the winner will be a two hour program on Thursday in Asia and Wednesday in the USA.

Part 2 - The Winner Is

NBA CARES??? NOT IN CAMBODIA!!!

If you're living or traveling in a poor country like Cambodia, where the NBA games are not being televised, join the club. Numerous times we've been asked by NBA fans why the NBA has failed to televise the games in Cambodia for the first time this season. The NBA prides itself on caring and helping with its NBA Cares program to support poor nations so that raises the question WHY no NBA TV in Cambodia? Full story
