17-year-old Jordin Sparks Wins American Idol title and PRAISE - American Idol photo

After her performance Sparks has a WUSS-SUP look towards the judges and AI villain Simon Cowell - American Idol photo

"To be honest with you Jordin last week I didn't think you were good enough to make it to the final," said Simon Cowell on the left of American Idol judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson . Hmmmm.... American Idol photo

"She has that X factor," said AI competitor Gina Glocksen on the Larry King show this past week after Sparks won the title. Glocksen finished 9th in the competition that she said she came to win and not place but her praise for Sparks continued. "Jordin is always in tune, she's bubbly, glorious… she's perfect,"

17-YEAR-OLD AMERICAN IDOL WINNER JORDIN SPARKS - Earns and Gains Respect & Praise.

"To be honest with you Jordin, last week I didn't think you were good enough to make it to the final," said American Idol judge Simon (We love him too much) Cowell after Jordin Sparks sang "This Is My Now" in the final song of the performance show.

America voted and thought Sparks was good enough to vote her as the winner of the 2007 American Idol title maknig her the youngest ever AI title holder.

Oh my… what did Simon say? Again let us bow our heads and pray…. "Forgive him lord for he know not what he say. Amen."

Yes our man Cowell was wrong again as he was with academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson who he also though wasn't good enough and that she was involved in a competition that was over her head.

But hey lets get this straight…we love Simon… we tell you true. His caustic remarks are a necessary evil that makes him the British Idol of American Idol. Agree or not let's give him some LUV.

But this was Sparks moment after being selected the winner from a record setting 74 million votes as the sixth American Idol and how glorious it was. The 17-year-old took the world by storm in what could be described as a come from behind victory.

One could say she was an underdog from the start. She once was placed in the final two and almost voted off the show.

Once she was possible saved on a night when she was up to be eliminated but since they were doing a benefit fund raising show they didn't eliminate anyone and carried the votes over to the following week's program on an accumulated vote basis.

She was also an underdog being only 17-years-old which she wisely used to her advantage when the judges were extremely critical of her performance. "But I'm only seventeen!" she exclaimed with her big eyes wide open.

Seventeen or not she proved she has talent and strength as she sucked up the criticism and came back to fight the good fight on the next outing. That suck it up and tough it out attitude could be something she inherited from her father who was a professional football player for ten years in the NFL (National Football League).

Here's the bottom line…. If there were such a thing as a perfect American Idol it is personified in Jordin Sparks. Not only does Sparks excel in talent she also has a positive personality that is infectious.

"She has that X factor," said AI competitor Gina Glocksen on the Larry King show this past week after Sparks won the title.

Glocksen finished 9th in the competition that she said she came to win and not place but her praise for Sparks continued.

"Jordin is always in tune, she's bubbly, glorious… she's perfect," she said.

Runner-up Blake Lewis was also on the King show with the other top 10 American Idols. He noted that he thought Sparks would win the title when they reached the final 24 contestants.

She has so much charisma and talent," he said.

The top 24 contestants lived together for four months with the exception of Sanjaya Malakar who was separated from the group to be with his guardian and mother.

Surprisingly there was no follow-up by King to Sparks since she should have been in the same situation also being underage.

All noted that there American Idol schedule was tough in dealing with 12-16 hour days that involved song searches, clearing the songs (permission to use), rehearsing, recording, personal appearances and a run through of the show prior to be televised.

For Sparks it was more difficult since she had to attend three hours of school every day. Sparks persevered and her hard work ad positive attitude paid off as she is the NEW 2007 AMERICAN IDOL with a monster future ahead of her.

In the final show Sparks displayed her strengths with her stellar performance of "This Is My Now" the winner of the American Idol songwriting competition and a song that has never been recorded.

Sparks version is worthy making a hit of the tune. She also excelled in her next to the last song on the final performance show with the country song, "Broken Wing." She did such a good job that AI judge Randy Jackson excitedly exclaimed, "That was better than the original."

Should Jackson's assessment be correct Sparks could be the first black female singer to have a hit country song. Charlie Pride was a male country singer that had a number of hits and singing legend Ray Charles had a hit country album but Sparks is all WOMAN/child and that makes a big difference.

In this case Sparks youth is on her side as many people like her because she is so young and is so talented. She will also have a certain advantage in popularity with her peer group and that results in album sales. Sparks has such a bubbly (as Glocksen said) personality that she endears people to her.

She has the look and persona that is worthy of there being a Muppet doll made after her. Watch out for this young lady for she could be the most popular American Idol of all-time. Sorry Simon…. I said that.

Part 1 - Jordin Sparks WINS American Idol

CLIVE DAVIS HAS THE NUMBERS

Sony/BMG record company CEO/Chairman Clive Davis appeared on the final show as well as one earlier in the season. Sony/BMG is very tied into American Idol as many of their artists come form the program.

He noted that of all of the American Idols that have recorded albums that American Idol's first winner Kelly Clarkson was the most successful having won two Grammy Awards from her albums that have sold 14 million units worldwide that yielded seven # 1 singles.

Davis who was introduces by AI host Ryan Seacrest as the Man With The Golden Ears, pointed out the public's acceptance with Chris Daughtry's first album has achieved 2 ½ million in sales and two # 1 singles.

Davis noted that Daughtry was, "In the entire music industry the biggest selling artist of the year."

The record business legend then presented Carrie Underwood with an award commemorating her success with her debut album that achieved 6 million units sold and four # 1 singles.

LAKISHA JONES FELT THE VIBE

In the past we have questioned Cowell's ranting and raving in accusing Lakisha Jones of screaming. The criticism seemed uncalled for and we noted that Jones appeared to be primed to being set up to fail.

Jones admitted on the Larry King show that during that time she felt as if her quest to be the American Idol wasn't going to happen and she lost her confidence.

It was obvious, as she seemed nervous and tense after Cowell's unnecessary acrid comments. She was eliminated in the fourth position.

We have said before that Jones has the best voice of the final 12. We also noted that Melinda Doolittle had the combination of a great voice and technique and Sparks had a blend of both but her voice is not as strong. It is Sparks personality that sets her apart from the rest. She is deserving of the title.
